Re: [Match Thread]: 2018 Tri-Series Match 4 (Potential Semi-final) | Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka

What's the bet that Somenonamegedura will score his first and only career century today and then roll his arm over for a 4 wicket haul?

Shame we don't have any home Tests against SL coming up. I think we'd be a very good chance of whitewashing them.

Re: [Match Thread]: 2018 Tri-Series Match 2 | Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka

I rate Chatara and Jarvis about equally - Chatara a touch quicker, but Jarvis can get a bit more swing. Both would be in my first XI in any format on current form.

Re: ICC CWC Qualifiers announced

Why aren't Zim playing their games at HSC?

Madness. In terms of the advantage, crowd support, players transport, etc.

Re: Ntini resigns

Yeah, I think it was a bit of surplus to requirements scenario. Sure maybe a few players whinged that they had to go for a morning run or something, but ultimately the tail can't wag the dog. Him leaving was probably more to do with ZC trying to save money and Ntini wasn't offering anything that Str...

Re: ZIM-BD-SL Tri Series 2018: Pre-series Discussion

Waller is an enigma. But ultimately I think he should exclusively be a T20 slogger. He's just had so many chances and he's never got that average higher than 20. He's the Matsi of the 2010s - decent batsman, just never quite achieved his potential at international level. It's a damn shame he didn't ...

Re: Who will our most important player be for the Boxing Day match?

Cremer and Jarvis were the only two players to both increase their batting average and lower their bowling average in this Test.

Re: [Match Thread] Day Night Pink Ball Test: SA vs Zimbabwe

That was so embarrassing. Up there with that 2012 NZ Test.
Jarvis, Cremer and Mpofu are the only ones that can hold their heads high after that.

There's not really much to learn from such a belting. Just look ahead to the Bangladesh tour.

Re: LANCE Or Batting coach

Whoever the groundsman is for Old Hararians needs to take a drill and a handsaw and start manufacturing a few inch wide cracks in the pitch. Then line up the national team batsmen, and unleash Vitori, Jarvis and Chatara on them. It'll be like facing Philander and Morkel all over again. In all seriou...

Re: [Match Thread] Day Night Pink Ball Test: SA vs Zimbabwe

Don't be fooled by the collapse under lights - it was 80% because we are a very average batting unit up against a world class bowling attack. 20% of was the seaming conditions under lights. I think if that had been at 4pm in the afternoon instead of 8pm at night we're still looking at 3/40 or therea...
