Re: Peter Moor appointed as Vice Captain

They probably appointed an official vice captain because Hami wont play every single game. At 36 he will start struggling soon. Good way to ease PJ into the captaincy. He is a natural leader. I hope it improves his game.

Re: Bowlers Numbers Breakdown

In fact if you look at those numbers even closer then you will see that Cremer's trajectory is very similar to Mpofu's. If Mpofu had played 50 games against tier 3 opposition would we rank him as highly as Cremer?

This analysis is very good Jaybro. Really breaks it down.

Re: Bowlers Numbers Breakdown

Hmmm 2 questions for me. Is Mupariwa underrated?remember he was discarded during the Streak days because apparently he wasnt quick enough if I remember correctly(the irony in that is Jarvis probably bowls around the same pace as Mupariwa). 2nd question is Cremer overrated? Im very surprised by his s...

Re: Logan Cup Round 6 (Eagles v Mountaineers & Tuskers v Rhinos)

I think this is Maruma's 99th First Class game. An average of 30 and he is only 30. 25 half centuries and 7 centuries now. Not bad at all. Just looks like he struggles to convert his starts into big innings. Real domestic veteran. 205 wickets with an average below 25 too. Makes me wonder how have Wi...

Re: Future tour rumours

Ireland’s recent A Tour of Sri Lanka shows there’s definitely some talent coming through, with Niall O’Brien & Ed Joyce retiring expect to see some fresh faces into the side which should boost them. Also the Irish will always benefit from English ( And South African) players with Irish heritage who...

Re: Future tour rumours

I would have loved a test match against Ireland. What a shame. The ICC should bring back the test fund otherwise whats the point of the 2 new test nations not playing any test cricket? Saw that Chatara and Mpofu want to play club cricket in the UK this year. I guess that might be the only time we wi...

Re: Batsman Numbers Breakdown

What I find more interesting is that this justifies something I actually never used to agree with. The theory that the pre-2004 guys were better even though they had lower averages because they played against better opponents. Those tier 1 averages kind of prove that theory.

Re: Batsman Numbers Breakdown

Very good anlysis here. I actually think why Elton and Chamu have good averages against tier 1 sides is that they are much more comfortable playing pace than spin. Pace is usually the stregnth of the top sides. I actually think Chamu can be the fast bowling all rounder we need right now if he put hi...

Re: Taibu bounces back to play in Sri Lanka

In my opinion a batsman peaks from their late 20s to mid 30s where experience meets talent. So unfortunately I think Taibu actually lost the best cricketing years of his life when he retired. Just look at how confident BT is now at that peak age. He had the determination to have been world class. Pe...

Re: Logan Cup Round 4 (Tuskers v Eagles & Mountaineers v Rhinos)

Does anybody know what the real issue is concerning Burl? What is going on? I just hope they are not make his life difficult because of the strike last year. I feared there would be backlash 1 day. Especially after Williams said he was put on 3 months notice or something like that. Im sure he wasnt ...
