Re: The harsh reality

No we have some brilliant boys. If they were in another country they would be in academies and have huge opportunities. Check out the posts on Next generation

Re: The next Generation

I highly rate Malcolm Lake and Ryan Bearl. They are u19 though. Lake got a 100 against India in the World Cup. Brilliant leftie, plays too square early on in his innings and gives chances but once he's set his awwesome. If he played in the V until he was over 50 he would make plenty runs. Bearl equa...

Re: The next Generation

Short of front-line batters, standard Zim problem. Chiradza, Welch, Byrom, Curtis, Curran, Lock. Welch and Curran have scored 17 hundreds apiece. Add up the hundreds scored by all schoolboys in the last 5 years, multiply it by two and you won't get close to these two. These boys can really bat. Curr...

Re: The next Generation

Walter Huchu. great great offie. Really clever bowler. Great fielder. Really good bat. Has made a few hundreds. Angus Curtis, probably won't play here again. At Hilton. Great player. Unorthodox seamer (almost bowls off the wrong foot!). Swings and seams. Can bat long. Has a couple of hundreds.

Re: The next Generation

Matigimu. Send him to the Dennis Lillee academy for a year (he's 15) and he would come back bowling 140kph!! He's the quickest up to U19.
Davies Mawenda (sp?). Big bowling talent as well. Beautiful action, and really quick.

Re: The next Generation

I forgot about Chiradza in my other posts. He's a really good player. Great seamer and a really good bat. Lots of potential. Can bat long.

Re: Harare Metro League

There's two ways of tackling the sponsorship. Either each club looks for it's own sponsors or the appointed "Committee" looks for a complete sponsorship for the whole event. A couple of points- Firstly there are definitely too many clubs. This has resulted in a poor overall league standard which is ...

Re: Harare Metro League

It's in the hands of the players. It is costing $980 000 to host Bangladesh. ZC sold the television rights for $70 000. Basically no-one wants to watch it plus probably didnt negotiate it very well. That's where the money has gone. We lose over $900k to play a series!!! If players boycott this then ...

Re: Harare Metro League

Gargamel, Country Club were not invited to that meeting, nor did they attend. Makes me wonder how many people went to that meeting???? Seems people unilaterally decice the fate of others.
