Re: [ Poll ] What happens next?

Given the stage in their careers/lives that the core players are in (Taylor, Williams, Ervine, Raza, Jarvis) even a 6 month suspension means they will have to find employment elsewhere. Looks like that generation of ZIM players will surely sign off. Just saw that Mire has retired. Hamilton might wel...

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe vs Ireland - 3rd T20I -- EVERYBODY READ THIS!!!!

Zimbabwe never gets to play Australia or England & they rarely play India or South Africa, all these ODI matches they've played since the 2015 WC have mostly been against Afghanistan. I'm not arguing that Afghanistan are better than Zimbabwe, but the point I made was I felt if they played the big s...

Re: [Series Thread] World Cup 2019

You can argue the rule is wrong but you can't argue that to the letter of the law, that is the rule they got the call wrong!!! End of story move on I'm just saying had it been awarded as 5 runs, that would in a sense be unfair to England, because the arm release thing is never factored in on other ...

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe vs Ireland - 3rd T20I -- EVERYBODY READ THIS!!!!

I firmly believe that the players would be better if they played better sides more often Zimbabwe played the 2nd highest number of ODIs in between the two World Cups from 2015-2019. Thats resulted in a 0-5 record against Netherlands and Ireland which I think surprised even the harshest of critics. ...

Re: [Series Thread] World Cup 2019

Only Kriterion could argue against actual rules 😂😂😂 People are also arguing the boundary rule (also a dumb rule btw). That proves that a rule can still be a dumb rule. Secondly, this arm release thing has never been an issue before, so it should not be here. Thirdly, the fact that 6 runs should hav...

Re: [Series Thread] World Cup 2019

How can you disagree when his take is the rule?? I'm sure New Zealand would have taken 2 instead of 6 as well. It's not about logic in that instance, its the rule. However, I do agree that deflections should be a dead ball situation, not extra runs. Stokes is not at fault, the umpires messed up, an...

Re: [Series Thread] World Cup 2019

Looks like England were awarded one run too many. Stokes and Rashid had not crossed when Guptill threw the ball that deflected off his bat for four. I'm quite sure we've seen plenty of overthrows like that in cricket. I disagree with Taufel's take. If the overthrows hadn't occured, Stokes and Rashi...

Re: [Match Thread] Zim v IRL: T20I 2

Can't believe people still think Hamilton is good enough. Depends on what "good enough" means. Good enough to consistently win games agains top sides? Not even Taylor is of that class given his overseas record and record in clutch situations. Good enough to compete against teams ranked around 10-12...

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe vs Ireland - 3rd T20I -- EVERYBODY READ THIS!!!!

Or more to the point, if we'll ever see this group of players taking the field again. Yeah I really think this 3rd ODI is quite possibly the end of the road for the stalwarts of 2004 (Taylor, Masakadza, et al). The guys are all well into their 30s, and are either way past their prime (Masakadza) or...
