Re: Ranking Zimbabwe's Match-Winners

I finally finished Bangladesh's analysis since Jan 1, 2015 vs top 8 sides . In this period Bangladesh have won 18 matches across the 3 formats: Batsmen: Mahmudullah - 5 from 45 innings (11.1%) Nasir - 3 (all bowling) from 29 innings (10.3%) Soumya - 5 from 51 innings (9.8%) Tamim - 5 from 61 innings...

Re: [Series Thread] Australia in Bangladesh 2017

It appears as though Mosaddek has a more serious eye infection than thought and will miss the entire Australia series. Really hope the senior players are able to override the head coach and slot Mominul in the playing XI. Any head coach who leaves out the guy with the highest batting average in the ...

Re: West Indies tour rumours

What kind of pitches are they going to go with is of paramount interest. Windies quicks on a greentop would be lethal, and a flat track would require teams to score big to avoid a negative result. My bet would be for ZIM to make rank turners in Bulwayo and pack the team with spinners. Play maybe jus...

Re: Afghans planning to play their first test v Zim at Sharjah

Zimbabwe also have a chance to play one off Boxing day test against the proteas. Well I've also heard the Afghans are debuting in Test cricket with a 5 Test marquee series vs India while Ireland hosts England for a the first ever 7-Test rubber. I believe you've heard the same as well... Jokes aside...

Re: Afghans planning to play their first test v Zim at Sharjah

According to cricinfo there is some possibility of Afghanistan playing the Boxing Day Test in South Africa this year since India will not be able to tour till the new year. CSA is apparently looking at PAK/AFG as the replacement for a one-off Test to fill the now vacant Boxing Day slot. Wonder when ...

Re: [Series Thread] Australia in Bangladesh 2017

Now they're seen a decent side maybe they could attract a high profile coach like Andy Flower or Stephen Fleming ?? I'd love to see how they would go under a coach of their caliber I am not sure the BCB wants to spend the kind of money it would take to bring a guy like that to Bangladesh. Dhaka was...

Re: [Series Thread] Australia in Bangladesh 2017

I thought he was doing a good job as coach? Who would you like to coach the side Kriterion? The team has risen under his stewardship, but I attribute that more to him being at the right place at the right time. The coach has actually not taken a single wicket, scored a single run, or even effected ...

Re: [Series Thread] Australia in Bangladesh 2017

Yeah apparently the senior players went behind the coach's back and asked the BCB president Nazmul Hasan to intervene. Shakib, Tamim, Mushy, and Mashrafe went to Hasan's house allegedly and the next day the President forced the coach to include Mominul. BCB also reportedly will be scaling down Hathu...

Re: Ranking Zimbabwe's Match-Winners

 You can do all your stats Kriterion , even up to 2018, but you'll once again see that Ashraful was/is your match-winner. I did mention it recently, and used to argue the same in the past. Sometimes a Mushfiqur or a Sakib doing well in a losing cause gives the impression that they are winning ...

Re: Ranking Zimbabwe's Match-Winners

Just to compare, I also ran Bangladesh's data from 2000 to the end of 2009 - a period where Bangladesh only registered 8 wins vs top 8 sides and thus could be comparable to Zimbabwe's level. As it turns out, the data also matches. Bangladesh had a similarly low percentage of MWPs amongst their leadi...
