Re: Ranking Zimbabwe's Match-Winners

Just to compare, I also ran Bangladesh's data from 2000 to the end of 2009 - a period where Bangladesh only registered 8 wins vs top 8 sides and thus could be comparable to Zimbabwe's level. As it turns out, the data also matches. Bangladesh had a similarly low percentage of MWPs amongst their leadi...

Re: Ranking Zimbabwe's Match-Winners

On the subject of spinners who have been banned I have sympathy for spinners who get caught chucking because their coaches should have picked up on it instead of letting them go for so long but in the end of the day they're cheating and have an advantage over the batsman. I'll tolerate the ones who...

Re: [Series Thread] West Indies in England 2017

Hameed looked like a star child in India, the toughest place to score runs.

Re: Ranking Zimbabwe's Match-Winners

The formats essentially are split. There is only 1 Test and 2 T20 matches. Its almost exclusively an ODI list. Utseya has been left off since he's been chucking for some time. Vitori has been included because no one knows if his action is really illegal or not. ICC claimed Kusal Perera was doping an...

Ranking Zimbabwe's Match-Winners

Following on from my post in the Tristan Holmes thread, here is a more definitive analysis of match-winning performances since July 1, 2001. All current players will be listed as well as a select few from the past. My revised parameters were as such: Batting 1st innings: at least 30% of innings tota...

[Series Thread] West Indies in England 2017

The Windies just got demolished in the first Test. Dissappointing showing by Alzarri Joseph. I hope the selectors keep the faith in him. But whats up with all these new names in the England lineup: I only recognize Cook and Root's name from the top order. Where is Haseeb Hameed...that kid is going t...

Re: Logan Cup stats

Re: [Series Thread] Australia in Bangladesh 2017

Looks like that [Mod edit: language] Hathurasingha has now got Mominul in his crosshairs. top scored in the intra-squad match and dropped from the team albeit his form has dropped. I hope the senior players oust his ass Kohli style.

Re: Tristan Holme Response

Yeah, some of those claims about slow knocks are questionable, and we can't come up with a DLS like system to take many things into account, but a significant contribution towards a win is a significant contribution, irrespective of strike rate / where he batted etc. You probably could come up with...
