Re: [Match Thread] 1st Test, Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves but I wanted to ask which game/When did you know that there was finally hope for Bangladesh? Was it the zim whitewash? I would say it was the NZ home series in 2013 when Bangladesh held the Kiwis to a 0-0 draw on a pair of flat pitches. We had earlier dr...

Re: Voting begins - Best First XI competition

Opening in tests an ODIs is different. I am probably biased against Hami. OK, underatatement, I am for sure. If he averages 36 at 3, I would argue its either due to a small sample size or due to hammering BD a few times. Am I wrong? The reason I think Ervine-Taylor should be at 3 and 4 is because of...

Re: [Match Thread] 1st Test, Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Anyways, back to the game. I would say ZIM are in total control (unless this is a minefield of a pitch). A raging desi dustbowl is the only place were 219 is a par score. And even then you probably need a 300 ish 2nd innings total to make that 219 a par. But at 174-3, the Windies have proven there a...

Re: [Match Thread] 1st Test, Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Oh pariah does have a lot of false viewpoints, but it isn't all false. He is correct for example when he says Chakabva opening and keeping is ridiculous, but then he is wrong when he proclaims a 30-ball duck as a great innings. Agreed. But Trump too occaisionally stumbles upon facts. When Trump pro...

Re: Voting begins - Best First XI competition

IMO its very simple. Is Hami a better #3 than Ervine? No. There is unfortunately a minor flaw in that argument. Ervine is yet to play at no. 3 in a test match. That fact makes this situation even more tragic. But I doubt Ervine's performance is dependent on batting position inside the middle order ...

Re: [Match Thread] 1st Test, Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Probably a bit harsh there. Pariah does make some good points, and it would be boring if we all agreed with each other. I know he often falls into the trap of not being able to see different opinions, we must try not to fall into that same trap ourselves. Thats like arguing Donald Trumps categorica...

Re: Voting begins - Best First XI competition

Interesting that Masakadza is so popular as an opener despite his poor record opening. Was thinking exactly that, and while watching him play yesterday evening. It was a lose-lose situation to come out like that for 5 overs. And his record in tests make for painful viewing if you are a fan, because...

Re: [Match Thread] 1st Test, Zimbabwe vs West Indies

What a day of test cricket by the boys they followed all their game plans and stuck to their guns The 8-3 lineup worked a treat so far with Raza, Mire & Willy taking 5 wickets between them Hhm has been quiet ? HHM is a fake poster. Wants a specialist opener like Sibanda to open when he has an...

Wow what a day for ZIM.

Tremendoua effort...I think the SL series might turn out to be the watershed moment.
