Re: Bangladesh Watch 2015-2019

Is it really a great tournament for BD considering they only won one game? They were beaten fairly comfortably by England considering they made 300+ and were getting pumped by Australia before the rain set in. Of course the win over NZ was special to get through to the semi where they were again co...

Re: Bangladesh Watch 2015-2019

well some say Bangladesh didnt deserve to be in the semis and lucked out due to rain. they point to the ease wuth which India won as proof. certainly debatable. champions trophy proved BD still has a long way to go to be a top 4 side and contend for championships. #6 is fairly reflective of where we...

Re: Bangladesh Watch 2015-2019

Not sure if Liton is a power hitter or just really fluid with the bat. but Id like to see him as the specialist WK and see Nasir come back. I think its time to bench Soumya and Sabbir.

Re: Bangladesh Watch 2015-2019

Well a disappointing end to lose in such a fashion - by 9 wickets with 10 overs left. However, I think the boys were just guilty of making too many mental errors with the bat. Hopefully, lessons learned for the WC in 2 years time, but with our senior players now around the age of 30 we no longer hav...

Tbh I feel the kind of pitches we play on are also to blame. How frequently do we see scores in excess of 300 in Zimbabwe?
Yeah I expect ZIM to score a healthy total here which means batsmen will have both big scores and healthy strike rates.

Re: [Match Thread] 1st ODIs: SCOT vs ZIM

Just 3 guys with a 30+ average. Appalling. Look at Malcolm Waller's average in this period - 9.73 !!! And he gets selected in our first choice XI. How much more horrible can we get? Also, Williams has regressed alarmingly in this period. Factor in this a batting era. Most of the leading players are...

Re: [Match Thread] 1st ODIs: SCOT vs ZIM

2 down Raza only bowler doing well justifying his shock selection. Still very disappointing bowling display ..... Raza, surprisingly has been ZIM's best batsman by average since the 2015 WC, IIRC. My bad, he's #2, but just behind Ervine: http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?clas...

Re: [Match Thread] 1st ODIs: SCOT vs ZIM

Scotland are a pretty decent side. They are in the top 3 of the World Cricket League and in contention for qualifying for the 13 team ODI league (if that is still on the cards).

Re: [news] Taylor ton the highlight of 834-run contest

He hardly played any first class cricket. Surely, the allure of getting ZIM to the WC in 2019 and resuming a Test career under decent management will at least get him to consider a return.

Re: Lead up to 1st ODI v Scotland

Didn't Mommsen retire due to frustration about lack of fixtures?

Has he come back?

I thought Scotland were strong, and would really give ZIM a run forr their money. But they got beaten pretty badly by Namibia today.
