Re: [Match Thread] 1st Test, Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Assuming a taget of 450, divided by 8 top order batsmen = 56.25 runs per batter.

If the 3 tailenders contribute 30 runs total (10 each) that is about 52 runs per top order batsman.

Re: [Match Thread] 1st Test, Zimbabwe vs West Indies

The pitch has definitely eased out it would seem. Well played to the West indies.

Zimbabwe need to show fight with the bat like they did in SL.

Re: [Match Thread] 1st Test, Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Also disappointed that Hami & Ervine got out after getting starts, it's the type of pitch you need to make the most of getting a start. These wickets, you are never set. A well made 50 is as valuable as a big hundred on a flat track. So Hami and Ervine are like the guys that get out for 80 or 90 od...

Re: One wicket, one run

In an ideal world, i'd lock Pariah and Watermelon in a room and let them get on with it. However, I have a nagging suspicion that they are the same person. It makes visiting this forum a chore at times. In theory, we are all here because we support Zimbabwe cricket and want to see them do well, but...

Re: Voting begins - Best First XI competition

If you remove Bangladesh from the equation, Hammy's average at 3 drops to 26. That being said, most Zimbabwean records are inflated by games against the Bangladeshis. Yeah I didnt bother looking it as I assumed as much. Its probably reasonably accepted to include stats vs BD in Tests from 2013 lr 2...

A disastrous day. That is all.
Pretty much the exact opposite as Day 1.

Beauty of the game as PSR has said. Still not over...if any team can go from 148-1 to 200 all out, the Windies are at the top of that list.

Re: One wicket, one run

Yes because a single innings makes an entire half of a career. How about the bushels of failures guys like Elton, Vusi, and even Hami have had for over a decade? Even in this match as well as Hami may have played...had he did a Shai Hope ZIM would have had a first innings lead. Still has a shot to r...

Re: [Match Thread] 1st Test, Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves but I wanted to ask which game/When did you know that there was finally hope for Bangladesh? Was it the zim whitewash? I would say it was the NZ home series in 2013 when Bangladesh held the Kiwis to a 0-0 draw on a pair of flat pitches. We had earlier dr...

Re: Voting begins - Best First XI competition

Opening in tests an ODIs is different. I am probably biased against Hami. OK, underatatement, I am for sure. If he averages 36 at 3, I would argue its either due to a small sample size or due to hammering BD a few times. Am I wrong? The reason I think Ervine-Taylor should be at 3 and 4 is because of...
