ZIM Test lineup going forward

Now with it being official that BRMT and KJ are back, ZIM are at full strenght. At the very least, they are as strong as ever before. After seasons of county experience these guys will be loads better than they were before and still have 4-6 years of prime years left. Lets now discuss - for the firs...

Re: OK so what about Jarvis' return...?

So what happens if the team doesn't? Pariah you accused me - in this case a correct accusation! - of not being a ZIM cricket well-wisher. But I am happy to admit it and say yes, I root against ZIM. It is totally unfair for Ireland to be doing all the right things for the better part of a decade and...

Re: OK so what about Jarvis' return...?

HHM/pariah...surely, there is no way you can gloss over that fact. The ZC paki in less than 6 months in charge has brough the two most talented ZIM players post-2004 back. If you're measuring the Paki from a player perspective, then ZC losing Jongwe, while not using Wellington, Panyangara and Chiso...

Re: OK so what about Jarvis' return...?

As predicted yesterday Lancs have confirmed his release. Great news! The Chatara - Jarvis combo should be pretty good for tests now, Somebody get the Byrom return thread going. We need an opener and we are in decent shape... You know what the best thing about this KJ return is? That he volunteered ...

Not everyone is rejoicing
Because the quota class players might be missing out from the playing XI.

Re: OK so what about Jarvis' return...?

Wowowowowow!!!!

Alhamdulillah. Zim are now finally a team that can put their best XI on the field!

This is going to be a golden age and predict Welch will be back in the next few years and possibly Byrom, Lake, and other youths who left.

I have never been happier for ZIM cricket!

Re: [Series Thread] Bangladesh in South Africa 2017

At 31, he's played just 51 Tests, extremely few of which have been wins, and they are very recent. True, he is a genuine allrounder, but so are Ashwin, Jadeja and Moeen Ali - all 3 of whom predominantly play elite Tests against full strength sides, while Shakib still trails Ashwin's highest grading...

Re: [Series Thread] Bangladesh in South Africa 2017

Overall his batting record against the top sides (AUS, ENG, SA and IND) is poor. You can't deny that much. I stand to be corrected, but he has just 3 fifties in 20 tests against them . Some of the Zimbabweans you lambast have similar batting records to him against those very same sides. Even John N...

England join SA in their support of 4-day Tests

ECB are now in agreement with CSA in their support of 4-day Tests. ICC seems to be trialing this and it may be that by 2020 all Tests will be 4 day affairs. BCB has said they will wait to "study" everything. The BCCI has also apparently not taken a position. Will be interesting to see how the full m...

Re: [Series Thread] Bangladesh in South Africa 2017

If you are aware of the workload, you'd give him the benefit of the doubt. His family lives in Minnesota, so he also travels to the US a lot. I think he was in NYC just before the Australia series. Shakib has little to prove with either the bad or the ball. He has 6 fer in SA already and a 5 fer in ...
