Re: Test Opening options

Kriterion, as they say in your parts "don't play yourself nigga"! What point is this that you're trying to make by lumping 3 formats together? Forget Williams. Take away Craig's 160 and he's no better than Mawoyo who actually OPENS the batting in seam friendly conditions. Those two aren't even as g...

Re: Test Opening options

There is nothing wrong with taking time in tests.. in fact we probably lost the last test because our run rate was too high... This is a valid point and one I was thining about a few days ago. The average run rate in Tests nowadays is around 3.20 to 3.30 I think. Zimbabwe and Pakistan have batted a...

[Series Thread] India in Sri Lanka 2017

I think to spice up ZCF, we ought to discuss more non ZIM cricket. :D

I think Sri Lanka will win a couple games, but I see India winning the Tests 3-0. SL might draw one if the pitch is a total belter.

Re: Test Opening options

Kriterion you love to use stats, and stats prove that Hami has been Zimbabwe's best batsman, and most consistent across ALL formats. The fact that he has been dropped before while others haven't been dropped for worser spells of poor form does not mean that Hami has not excelled. Even by your own r...

Re: Taylor, Jarvis set to return, talks with Ervine underprocess

Taylor may be back but doubt Jarvis will return. Zim should rather try to bring Malcom Lake and few others youngsters. Zim badly needs a good all fast bowler, Nathan Waller must be tried. Tristan Holme mentioend both by name in an article. That means there is a good chance that both will be back. T...

Re: Test Opening options

With Raza stepping up as the 2nd most reliable - heck perhaps even the single most reliable - batter in the side, I wouldn't want to ruin his flow by forcing him to open if thats not his natural position in red ball cricket. If Raza and Ervine continue to score for an entire season or the Zimbabwe e...

Re: 10 years of ZCF

Actually, I have never met an Afghan Tajik.. Apparently they speak a different variety of Farsi, known as Dari. From what I've heard, Tajik, Dari and the Farsi spoken in Iran are mutually intelligible, but there are many differences too especially when it comes to the accent. Also, the script is to...

Re: Taylor, Jarvis set to return, talks with Ervine underprocess

What would the Test XI look like for home Tests against Asian sides? Hamilton Raza/Chakabva (+) Taylor Ervine Williams Chakabva (+)/Raza Musakanda/Burl/M Waller Cremer Jarvis Chatara Mumba This would be my XI with obviously the question marks as to who opens, and where does Regis bat (unless Moor is...

Re: 10 years of ZCF

are you an ethnic Tajik? Yes. that would explain why your avatar is of Hamid since Afghanistan is the closest country to you. Actually, it doesn't have much to do with that.. I like Afghanistan's brand of cricket. I loved watching Hamid Hassan bowl his toe-crushing yorkers. How those guys play is r...
