Yeah to practice in different conditions that you're going to play in doesn't make sense.
Well they are playing the tournament on the same grounds they played in 2020 and spinners dominated that tournament. So maybe it will not be the worst preparation .

You' d think Nigeria would produce the quickest bowlers in the world.
They probably would if cricket became a mainstream sport in Nigeria

Re: Zimbabwe Vs Uganda | ICC T20 Qualifier | 26 November 2023

Houghton gtg. He instilled a good energy in the team a year ago but tactically he is lacking and I think the game has passed him by. When Uganda played the u-25 team last week in the first game the u-25 team only bowled 4 overs of part-time spin and they lost. In the second game Owen Muzondo played ...

Almost every close decision has gone Zimbabwe's way, and yet we are here. I'm lost for words.
I’m not. This sort of pitch was always going to bring Uganda into the game.

Re: 2023 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier Regional Final

Honestly I’m the complete opposite. I think they’ve got to back the bowlers to bowl all these teams out for less than 120. The last thing Zimbabwe need is for Uganda to get away and post 150 because then they’ll be forced to chase down a sizeable total on a slow pitch against a platoon of military m...

Re: Nigeria and Uganda tour of zimbabwe

Nigeria’s bowling attack is no joke. None of their bowlers would look out of place in a Zim franchise side. They have 4-5 good young quicks, a promising leggie and a mystery off spinner. They struggle with the bat.

Re: Pro50 Championship 2023-24

Plenty of guys with multiple seasons of county cricket under their belt have played Zim domestic over the last couple of years and with the exception of Compton in the Logan Cup none of them have close to this level of domination. Patrick Rowe who was Aus-19 player a few years ago and a first grader...

Re: Raza new T20I Captain

You are confusing two different things. International eligibility and domestic. Cartwright could turn up and play for Zim tomorrow, as he was born here. No 3-year residency or living full time period required. However as soon as he played 1 international fixture for Zim, he would then be considered...

Re: Zimbabwe Vs Namibia | 2nd T20I | 25th Oct 2023

I don't understand why the team management are so allergic to playing 2 specialist spinners. Yes Welly and Ndlovu are similar but they are just straight up better bowlers than Akram, Mumba and Jongwe. The WC next year is in the Caribbean and the pitches more often than not take turn, so picking two...
