Re: 2020 ZCF XI

Borrowing an idea from CrimsonAvenger's thread, here are the ZCF batsmen and their favourite or best shots: 1. foreignfield : the leave -- Runs having dried up for him, the new captain is trying hard to master this 'stroke', the constant sound of rattling timbers indicating he is far from the finish...

Re: 2021 Zimbabwe Test team Watch

Although I can understand the thinking behind Taps's and jaybro's line-ups Kasuza deserves another chance. I know we don't have any continuity in our Test team anyway, but his omission would be beyond cruel.

Re: 2020 ZCF XI

Nice one us usual, Eugene! Getting recalled from the virtual wilderness of simulation cricket as opener and captain has a Chamu-esque ring to it, ZIMDOGGY dishing out jobs for the boys in his new capacity as administrator no doubt. Now that my retirement plans have gone haywire I will have to seriou...

Re: U-19 trial tournament,2020

It feels like to me that Jarvis has played more against test teams whereas Chatara hasn’t played as many games against test nations and feasted on associates. If I've done the math correctly, Chatara has played 40 % (28/70) of his ODIs against associates, Jarvis 37 % (18/49). Both have played BD mo...

Re: The shots and the best Zimbabweans to play them

Grant Flower had a lovely cover/straight drive. Very high elbow. More recently, loved watching Brendan Taylor's lofted straight drive vs Pakistan. Beautiful shot. There's always been something special about BT's lofted drives when he's on song. Pull shot -- Vusi for me, even though he got out to it...

Re: U-19 trial tournament,2020

Tests, yes--even though Jarvis' record is on par with Chatara and Panyangara; but I rate Jarvis higher as a natural red-ball wicket taker.

In limited overs Chatara for me.

It also helps if the opposition has five genuine tailenders with Ndlovu at 7

Re: 2021 Zimbabwe Test team Watch

Absolutely, Ngarava has really made a step forward.

His height and being a left-armer also add another dimension lacking in the others Kriterion cited.

The open question is can he sustain it all through a Test match? Same with Blessing.

Re: Logan Cup 2020 - 21 : Discussion

It ain't over. Cometh a crisis, cometh the Don.

But seriously, the Manicas' batting line-up is extremely feeble. Kasuza run out for 1 didn't help but you shouldn't be into your tail with two or three wickets down either. Not a great match for Myers; and why the Don bats at 8 is beyond me.
