Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc

Ya I do, respectfully, strongly disagree Sam. 'Gatekeeping', 'Status', etc - it's all dated imperialist bollocks. No other global-level sport has such pointless concepts as 'status'. Agree. If Madagascar were to play Vietnam in a T20, it would be a T20 between 2 nations. Surely that's the definitio...

Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc

As long as they continue to preserve the sanctity of ODIs and Tests, we’re good. On the contrary, I'd love to see all teams given ODI status in the same way. Maybe not Tests since I doubt any lower ranked sides can afford to stage any, but if ICC remove some of the red tape around it maybe that'll ...

Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc

The ICC made a mistake by giving everyone T20I status in my not so humble opinion. I am for expanding the game, but they should have kept T20I status for perhaps the top 30-40 sides. And or give to everyone but don’t recognize Asian Games, Africa Games, or the Olympics as T20I. One of the consequen...

Can't catch a break this guy.

Congrats Ireland for their first win
Tbh, he looked quite out of his depth. Naveed Zadran was all over him in both innings.

Re: Durham tour of Zimbabwe

Another very disappointing result really.

A significant reality check for some.

Durham are surely the heavy heavy favourites to win the T20!

Borthwick is such a wimp bowler. Putting himself on against the last batsman. Happened a few times now.
Barely bowls in red ball cricket these days. But having a wristspinner to use against a tail that is being a little stubborn is always a good option.

Re: Durham tour of Zimbabwe

Actually... that was a pretty disappointing performance, in my opinion. That was far from a full strength Durham side, with a lot of raw kids in their side. They are also straight out of UK winter and indoor nets, whereas all the Zim A side have been in good form in regular recent matches in home co...

Ackerman jumped from the sinking Leicestershire ship and he won't make the Durham first team, he'll play his last two years of professional cricket in County Two's unless there's a double injury.
He will definitely play Durham 1s. He'll be a key player for them.

Re: Durham tour of Zimbabwe

Won the toss and we are batting. Durham: Michael Jones, Scot Borthwick, Ben MicKinney, Colin Ackermann, John Bushnell, Graham Clark, Haydon Mustard, Ben Raine, Callum Parkinson, Oli Gobson and Stan McAdlndon. Looks like an 11 vs 11 match which is good. Actual first class match, which is also good. ...

Anyone have an idea who will be in the Durham line-up?
For sure they will be without Wood, Stokes. I doubt they will have de Leede and Beddingham. Otherwise, you'd have thought most will be there. Matt Potts was a real handful last year.
