Re: Forum memories thread

A good memory for me happened quite recently. When chesterton asked about the quota rule in the South African domestic comp, he mentioned teams requiring a certain number of African Americans. I thought when one lived in Africa, you were from the continent of Africa. Where did the American connectio...

Re: SHIT! Zimbabwe lost to Singapore

Its hard to fathom how you write some good stuff and then nonsense in the same paragraph, it’s like several people are living inside your head, all fighting for the keyboard. No, it's not several people. It's the million chimpanzees fighting to type a novel. It's the law of probability something sen...

Re: SHIT! Zimbabwe lost to Singapore

AUS stop at Shield and Grade which is below our Provincial, and probably on par with County 2nds - no? I love it. He deals in facts(?!) but promotes supposition! https://www.cricket.com.au/news/state-contract-lists-for-new-summer-finalised-sheffield-shield-jlt-one-day-cup/2019-05-24 Here's the link ...

Re: SHIT! Zimbabwe lost to Singapore

No, I can't move on. The troll who lives on stats & facts opened the door. The Logan Cup is stronger than County cricket. That's the statement we are to agree upon, right? And that's being realistic, right? So let's look at the stats on some cricketers who played both Logan Cup & County cricket. Gar...

Re: SHIT! Zimbabwe lost to Singapore

How did Chigumbura's bowling become a topic? Fact- he hasn't taken an international wicket since 2015/16. And that is in any format. My source is statsguru on cricinfo which anybody can access. I'm sure it is ratified by the Association of Cricket Statisticians. In 2016 there was a topic " Chigumbur...

Re: 2019/20 Domestic Cricket Season - Logan Cup, Pro50, Twenty20

Hey encore,
Could you please outline the pruning CA has done to the Sheffield Shield?
Each state plays 10 games per season on a home & away basis plus the final played by the top 2 teams. Been that way since 1982/83.
You sure you don’t mean the 50 over competition?

Re: Bangladesh vs Afghanistan | Only Test | Chattogram

The West Indies play a test against them when they tour India later this year. The Afghans must be specials considering the way the Windies batted on last years Indian/Bangladesh tour & the way they were dusted by India on their own decks recently.

Now the Folau circus has made its way to this forum, may I offer a view that I have not yet seen expressed in this forum to date. Correct me if I'm wrong but this is mainly for non Aussie forumites. Briefly recapping: 2018 highest profile RU star Folau posts religious beliefs. With all the ferocity ...

Re: Murray Goodwin’s son handed western Australian rookie contract

John Ward alluded to it with the coaching comment. I recall reading after the dust had settled after the tour to England in 2000, Johnson seemed to be in it just for the international cricket opportunities, knowing he couldn’t make it in South Africa.. Part of the deal was to do local coaching & dev...

Re: [Pro50] 8 & 9 - Rhinos v Mountaineers + Eagles v Tuskers

A quick search reveal Sibanda scored 190 for MidWest Rhinos against Southern Rocks at Masvingo in the 2012/13 season. Not saying this is a domestic record but I haven't found anything else yet.
