Re: [Match thread] Southern Rocks vs Midwest Rhinos (Logan C

Actually 16 double hundreds occurred between 01/02-04/05. This appears to be the time Zimbabwe got their act together on the first class scene. In 01/02 CFX Academy & Mashona 'A' fielded teams with the 4 provinces but after that it was just Mashona, Matebeleland, Manica & Midlands. Only 3 doubles, F...

Re: [Match thread] Southern Rocks vs Midwest Rhinos (Logan C

Only 5 double hundreds in the 2005- current. Taylor, Sibanda, Ballance. S Ervine & Matsikenyeri. Strydom's 216 was in 03/04 for Matebeleland v Midlands. He had quite a stellar year. Soma's 204 was in the return fixture same year. These records are not hard to find. Go to cricketarchive.com, thumbnai...

Re: [Match thread] Only Test - Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh

Isn't this is what test cricket is about! All this discussion & pondering the variables. The shorter form rarely brings this conversation, just guarantees quicker results. For my part, today we have a great mind game for Zimbabwe. Forget the standard of opposition. Last night the Bangla spinners wou...

Re: like i told you guys before about ervine

Really sorry for Zim because this guy would have strengthened your team. But the lesson here should make you tread warily when posts are written about recruiting Ireland & Cameron & others playing overseas. If they are not playing in Zim now to qualify for the international team, then it seems the c...

Re: Ashes 2010-11

You could write a book on Australia's problems at the moment. Spinners & openers are a problem as well as out of form middle order bats. You wouldn't want to be a spinner for quids in Aussie. If you don't perform (Doherty) or if you don't fall into Ponting's plans (Casson, Kreja) then get ready for ...

Re: How good do you think Zimbabwe will ever be at cricket?

May I offer a few comments as a complete outsider (I'm an Aussie). Mostly, I am appalled when I read the negativity about Zimbabwe's international return. You have been out of the real international arena for 5 years. What do you think will happen? Yes! You will cop your drubbings. But you did befor...

Re: are we up to test standard or do we have the potential

Whether Zimbabwe is up to test standard or not, the timing is perfect to resume full international duties. What better way to woo ex-pats back to the country by having a full international calander after a prestige event like the World Cup. With regular first class cricket. But you should be more up...

Re: Hick

A very interesting topic & as an observer of cricket since 1970 may I share my opinion. I believe that if the ICC gave Zimbabwe test status in the early 1980's (when Zim applied for it) then their whole cricketing landscape & potentially, political landscape would be different. After independence Zi...
