Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Test, Dhaka

Tiripano will never have a better opportunity to score a Test century. Zero time pressure, batting at three. Hope he can do it.

Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Test, Dhaka

This game is GONE. All we can do is bat for time. In a way this could be a good thing as it should extinguish any hopes of 2-0. Just bat for time. No reason to poke the bat at anything outside off stump.

Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Test, Dhaka

I agree sam_ahm.

A bit of rain wouldn't hurt either. I think from this position BD would have to spectacularly implode to go on to lose the match.

This is all going to depend on our first innings . If we bat solidly and get over 300 we are still in the game. If we collapse for 170 we are in trouble.
We need more than 300. I'd say we need at the very least, to achieve whatever BD's first innings score is.

Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Test, Dhaka

I agree TapsC & foreignfield, we should bat for time from the word go. Take as much time out of the game as possible... it's up to BD to save the series, that could work to our favour.

Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Test, Dhaka

Chatara deserved a wicket, he's bowled very tight today.

Hope we can nip out the nightwatchman before stumps, 5/300 is much more respectable.

Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Test, Dhaka

All I can think of is that we want to have a couple of overs with it tonight so that it's still new tomorrow morning, when the conditions might favour the seamers more?

But yeah, at this point we need to try something. The spinners have been woeful.

Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Test, Dhaka

I'm fine with Ervine being given a spell on the sidelines but Chari is not the answer. I get what you're saying, he only gets a game here and there so how can we judge his performances - but the reason he only gets a game here and there is because he never does enough to warrant continued selection....

Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Test, Dhaka

Raza and Mavuta serving up utter garbage.

HM not thinking by persevering with Raza when Mominal is on 98 (rank full toss to get his hundred). Should have gone back to Jarvis or Chatara to at least give the illusion of pressure.

Remember when all the randoms were playing?

Like this game: http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/474533/scorecard/474581/mashonaland-eagles-vs-mountaineers- Compton, Hall, Chad Keegan, Beukes, Smith... what possessed these guys to play in the FC and List A comps? There must have been a bit of money floating around in the Stanbic days, I wonder ...
