Eligibilty to play for national team

As we have a lot of foriegn players now interested in joining our national side I thought i might ask a few questions about it: Who qualifies to play for the national team, as the criteria seems a bit baffling... Does a player have to hold a Zim passport? Do they have to be resident in Zim for the l...

Re: Raza wants to play for Zimbabwe

Its great in the short term that we have all these foreign players playing cricket for our franchises, as it raises the standard and exposes our cricketers to different styles and tactics... However, in the long term it could damage our national team and zimbabwean born players if their places are c...

Re: Ryan Butterworth

He seems to be a breath of fresh air amidst over hyped 'Meth addiction' Butterworth is a good player yes. Has he got the cutting edge to succeed at the international arena....no. Will be a very good first class cricketer though If Coventry could play T20 for Zim so can Butterworth. He's alrea...

Re: Zim 5 to Watch: Season 2010-11

It's fair comments from ZIMDOGGY in regards to Panyangara. He has been out of cricket for a long time, and he will be a bit rusty, but give him a season of first class cricket and i think he'll be the bowler he was in 2004. Howver I don't agree with what you said about him not being the real deal. ...

Re: Zimbabweans in English club cricket

I'm glad that these boys are playing cricket, it'll only improve their game a considerable amount. Though I would like to see a few more youngsters with contracts. is it though? Its vwery low quality cricket and they may get used to inferior opposition. its only good to keep fit and for someone lik...

Re: Vusi Sibanda analysis

Conant, I understand your points. My point about Kenya is that performing against them does not secure ones place in cricketing greatness. Vusi Sibanda has played some good knocks in losing causes, particular in Pakistan, but I believe he has had a fair chance to prove himself and he has come up sh...

Re: I've been accepted !

What kind of cricketer are you sloandog? Fast bowler? All-rounder? Batsmen? Right handed? In any case congratulations and best of luck, i really hope you make it, you sound very passionate about life and Zimbabwe. I'd like to class myself as a fast bowler mate, I was clocked at 83mph in the winter ...
