Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh v Zimbabwe 1st ODI

This tour has been bad for ZIM, and if it ends up being 8-0, it might be one of the worst tours in history but that's just how the game goes. I'm sure we will struggle in a return series - whenever one is scheduled - even if we win. Just like Zim, we're very decent in our conditions...we're just me...

Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh v Zimbabwe 1st ODI

This tour has been an absolute disaster so far. NZ has been blanked 7-0 in their last two tours to the Sunderbans. And it was a disaster for NZ also. True but it mitigates the disaster a smidgen. We lost in ZIM in 2011 and 2013 and it was mitigated by Zim pushing NZ (and winning a stunning 300+ ODI...

Re: Brendan Taylor away from home

Williams is our best batsman, Taylor in at second, Hammy at third. Swap Hammy and Taylor around when overseas. Not playing to many matches or series on a trot has robbed Sean Williams of the opportunity to go through prolonged slumps. He is also not yet proven at Test level, his temperament is stil...

Re: Zim offer BD ODI series to prep for CWC2015

[quote="Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic)] Loosing to Zim is still better than loosing to associate as happened in T20 WC [/quote] Ouch...burn. But no, losing to a team we have comfortably beaten over the past 6-7 years would be terrible for BD and their fragile psyche. When our mind is right, we can beat anyone...

Re: Brendan Taylor away from home

I guess this thread might unnecessarily turn into a Hammy vs Taylor thing. Pure class and talent wise, Taylor is definitely ahead. In fact, for me, Williams is ahead of both of them class and talent wise. Of course the former two have executed better. Taylor all the way. Hammy has only bashed minno...

BCB is afraid that a loss in ZIM will ruin the momentum of beating you 5-0 or 4-1 in the current series. They probably also don't trust the ZC's hospitality on such short notice.

BCB is expected to Decline this series and opt for the proposed hexangular in the UAE instead.

Re: [Match Thread] 3rd Test: Zim vs Bang at Chittagong

That being said, my analysis of BD batsmen is the following. BD players are naturally strong on the front foot for the obvious reasons that most of our wickets are low and slow. The players who are good on the backfoot (defending, cutting, pulling, hooking, etc) will have a higher chance of success ...

Re: [Match Thread] 3rd Test: Zim vs Bang at Chittagong

Yes, Perth and Brisbane do seem to be the tougher venues in AUS. Only 5 subcontinent bats have hit hundreds there (Ganguly, Tendulkar, Ijaz, Anwar, H Tilakaratne). Tendulkar averages just 27 odd from 9 innings. That being said, a venue should be judged on its real time condition and not on its reput...
