Re: Series thread : Standard Bank Pro20

I agree with most of the side, but I would play an extra batsman. Especially since Sibanda and Taylor are woefully out of form, and the middle order might get exposed very early in the innings. So I would also play Williams in the side. I would open with Sibanda and Coventry (if available for select...

Re: [ Poll ] ZCF Players of the MTN Championship

I had to make a tough choice between Williams, Taibu, Masakadza, Price, Mupariwa and Brent. Williams was clearly the most consistent batsman, and had he palyed the entire tournament, he would have aggregated close to 500 runs (if not more). So, He comes in as one of the choices. Brent did not have a...

Tracking Zimbabweans in ICL

I am creating this thread to inform, discuss and debate the performances of some Zimbabwean Internationals (read Heath Streak and Murray Goodwin) who are taking part in the Indian Cricket League. Yesterday was the inaugural match and the team for which both Streak and Goodwin are playing, Ahmedabad ...

Re: Is Proper Utseya a good captain?

Hamilton Masakadza is in form and is aggressive. Is he a thinking cricketer? We don't know. He committed a few blunders on the field when he led the team in Pakistan. Brent could not finish his quota of overs a couple of times, even though he was the most economical bowler. Miscalculation on captai...

Re: Zimbabwe's IPL players

Heath Streak is part of a newly introduced team, "Ahmedabad Rockets" . Teams are listed here: http://content-ind.cricinfo.com/icl/content/current/story/340871.html. Streak plays under Damien Martyn's captaincy. Other captains include Chris Harris and Stuart Law. I would have loved to see Streak capt...

Re: Looks like the England tour will be going ahead...

Well, it all seems to have blown up again with the BBC reporting that the UK Government are considering a complete ban on Zimbabwean athletes from playing in the UK. Just read that article on BBC, and this is utter nonsense. What are they saying? They will stop the world doubles no.1 in womens tenn...

Re: Zimbabwe's IPL players

Not IPL, but ICL - Heath Streak has apparently signed for the breakaway Indian Cricket League, according to the Sunday News. No word yet on which franchise he'll be playing for. Now, I can't help but watch the ICL. If Streaky can reproduce the batting and bowling form he showed while playing for Al...

Re: Series Thread: U19 World Cup

Besides the 4 you mentioned though, which white players actually deserve to be in the 1st XI? I think Graeme Cremer has a very strong case, I think he should be in the Test team due to the experience factor. Ed Rainsford too, we need a bit of fire in the bowling. Terry Duffin, Greg Strydom, Ryan Bu...

Bizarre indeed, I tried multiple times and got the link working once.
