Re: [ODI 1] Zimbabwe vs UAE

Congrats Zim on 1st ODI expected nothing less. anything short of a whitewash is unacceptable. I dont subscribe to this 3-1 is good. only recomendation is that regis move down the order he isnt explosive enough to open. The problem is none of our top batsmen want to or can open! So there have to be ...

Re: [ODI 1] Zimbabwe vs UAE

Well we will probably win this 4-0. We are humiliating them at the moment. Couldn’t have done this a year ago? I know DL screwed us but it’s still fresh for me and stings just as much now as it did then. We have indeed, lost so much due to it. Yeah sad isn’t it. Choked at the worst possible time. I...

Re: [Match Thread] UAE vs Zimbabwe A at Old Hararians

I haven’t seen Oldknow so not disrespecting the boy, but he should not be there ahead of Murray. What a poor message being sent. He’s been at school in the UK for cricket, but didn’t bat up front in his first season, yet has done fairly well in a couple of trials games he’s had here. I’ve just spok...

Re: [Match Thread] UAE vs Zimbabwe A at Old Hararians

According to Cricinfo, Forster Mutizwa is the reserve umpire!!! :o :o :o The game has started and looks like detailed ball by ball updates from ESPNcricinfo Looks like we have to thank Freeman Chigovera for this again. Foster was indeed the reserve umpire; he wants to keep playing, but has also dec...

Wow this myers Kid can really play. Only 17 too. One for the future if ZC have a discernible youth policy
Yes, he batted really well. He is actually a black guy, apart from an English grandfather who gave him his surname. Very nice, well-mannered guy too, as I spoke to him this morning.

Yes, we can only await results from that, but the worst excesses of the past are no longer possible under ICC restraints, and as I say there has been improvement already in the last few months.

Re: It has been a challenge, but Zimbabwe have 'a viable game there' - Vince van der Bijl

I feel like I've read this script before for the last 10 or so years. At the moment, Zimbabwe Cricket has improved on what it was a few months ago. There is beginning to be more money available, as shown by the fact that they are now giving me paid work to do again (in US dollars, like all players ...

. . . who are well known for pinching players from the rest of the world. If Tatenda Taibu was still in ZC, I'm sure he would have put in plans to keep him for the country of his birth.

Re: Eddie Byrom and Nick Welch

I agree. The attack he was facing was quite modest, but he still batted very well. They got Somerset 9 down in the 2nd innings, so I wouldn’t say the bowling looked easy though either. Trescothick and Azhar Ali were opening, so it will be interesting to see where he bats.Never thought I’d be able t...
