Re: Zimbabwe Tour Of Pakistan 2020 [ 3 Odis & 3 T20s ] : Pre Series Discussion

A lot of the selection is economic. The older guys need to be in the first class comp but to keep them there they need the international 🥕 dangled. We can't afford to pay them properly to play for the franchises. I've got no problem with maruma playing for the 🐐. But then they want to throw him som...

Re: Zimbabwe Tour Of Pakistan 2020 [ 3 Odis & 3 T20s ] : Pre Series Discussion

Elton, after years of semi-retirement and half-baked comebacks, is still easily one of the 3-5 best hitters in Zim; that's a reality and shows up the lack of depth and alternatives. Elton could always hit a cricket ball; it shouldn't suprise anyone that he can still do it occasionally against our ow...

Looking at that squad, no wonder there is not much enthusiasm left in this forum.

Not even the inclusion of Elton, Chamu or Regis gets me worked up anymore.

Can somebody in their mid 30s not play any cricket for half a year and still be ok?
Provided they kept themselves fit ( I would be more concerned about BT in that respect) I would assume the muscle memory of older players to be not inferior to those of youngsters, rather the contrary.

Re: Carlisle thing

Remember chasing 303 in 2001 is equivalent of chasing 380 today. And against a decent attack too. Brett Lee was never again taken to the cleaners as on that day, economy rate of 9.00. In fact his two worst outings in terms of econ. came both came against Zim in that series: https://stats.espncricin...

Re: Carlisle thing

Stuart Carlisle, Zimbabwe's utility batsman who was moved up and down the batting order without getting a good run in any spot. Carlisle was one of my favourite players when I first discovered my love for cricket and Zim around the turn of the millenium; exactly for the reason quoted above. I think...

Re: Side project feedback

I do like the general idea exactly because it's understated and the complete opposite of the Ketone Express jersey the Dogg posted. The "Zimbabwe ... since '92" on the back is my favourite part; that's a really cool idea. I think I'd buy a simple red shirt with just that on the back right away :) Th...

Re: World X1 squad

I always thought Nick Knight went in for the wrong sport with the wrong nationality; I can picture him as an American race car driver or maybe a seventies' style pool hall shark.
