Re: How fast do the Zimbabwean "quicks" bowl?

I believe he is better yes. When i saw him in the first couple of matches against west indies 2006 tour he was making gayle, sarwan and co hop around and was getting appreciable bounce. He also has an excellent yorker. Dont think Mpofu has aquired one of those yet. Mupariwa is more a brent style type...

Re: How fast do the Zimbabwean "quicks" bowl?

May is suggest either mahwire or rainsford. I have criticised mahwire at ODI level before but he's the only one who can swing the ball at good pace.Might be able to unsettle the pakistani batsmen rather than the gentle pace they've been offered thus far Rainsford is also a good bet for me i am wonde...

Re: Match Thread: Pakistan v Zimbabwe, 2nd ODI

Chibhabha first change :o Im getting a bit fed up with this. We need our big guns like rainsford. Hell i would even consider bringing mahwire back in the team for matsikenyeri so we have that extra bowler

Re: SC Williams - Most talented young left hander in the World?

If the selectors continue to mess sean williams around in selection pools then he will be off in a flash i fear to county cricket. Of course i think he's a brilliant young player and one who can emulate andy flower as one of zimbabwe's finest. I think that Williams hundred in the last zim vs composi...

Re: Match Thread: Pakistan v Zimbabwe, 1st ODI

I fear that maruma could be in for some tap in this match. He played well as a batsmen in the last match but he was not picked primarily for that role.Still without a ODI wicket, I would rather bank on the expwerience of brent with 73 wickets as i feel it will be brent who will be axed. Hopefully da...

Charles coventry appreciation thread

He might have only hit one ODI 50 ( and a good one it was) But charles coventry as a ODI player at least had all the hallmarks of becoming a great player. A strike rate of 94 meant that if he batted for a significant amount of time the teams total would soon rise. Talent like his is too good to jett...

Re: Your first XI

Im sure that coventry has made a rod for his own back by late night drinking in the carribean tour 2006 and in general falling out with the coaches. Nevertheless he did play in the logan cup and any batsman with a modicum of talent ( lot of talent in this boy's case) should be perservered with. Cove...

Your first XI

If zimbabwe resume tests this year i would pick an alternative side for the ODI squad Jimbo's Zimbabwe test Squad 1.Duffin 2.Taylor 3.Chibhabha 4.Taibu 5.Williams 6.Mazakadza 7.Chigumbura 8.Brent 9.Utseya 10.mahwire 11.Price On a seaming wicket i would be tempted to drop price and play rainsford ODI...

Re: Match Thread: Patrons XI v Zimbabweans (4-Day Match)

Looks like maruma is Showing the way to the batsmen with 59 not out  Still have a lot to do to save the follow on but at least maruma is showing himself to be a capable batsman, It probably wont be enough for inclusion in the ODI series as maruma was picked as a spinner alone and got a tonk...

Re: Match Thread: Patrons XI v Zimbabweans (4-Day Match)

I think that Chibhabha will definetly have to come back into the squad for the 1st one day international for dabengwa and obviously utseya for Maruma. I dont know why the selectors have perservered with Dabengwa for so long, He is a very Mediocre player at international level. If Feel that maybe the...
