Re: Where to from here?
Theyve still got the Cartwright, Muyeye, Byrom and even BT Ballance option to revisit and to explore. BT could play a crucial role in some capacity or other, but they'll opt for a third rate other coach instead. ZC, TM and Bvute would much rather burn down HSC than reach out to these guys to bring ...

Re: Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka. 2nd ODI. 8th Jan 2024
I know you are all saying Shumba did well, but to me a SR of 57 in an ODI is not great in the context. I'm not asking for him to hit fours and sixes, but just to rotate the strike. Keep taking the ones and twos. I also see comments like, "he hit a good shot, but it went to a fielder". Yes, that can ...

Re: Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka. 2nd ODI. 8th Jan 2024
Gumbie was doing ok. That was a good delivery. There is something to work with there. He is actually very important. Theekshana is really good There's generally always something to work with with most of our youngsters. Problem is we don't have the coaches to do the job, or the coaches who are capa...

Re: Zimbabwe Vs Sri Lanka | 1st ODI | 6th Jan 2024
Who's our coach this series?
Probably a good thing the rain came or we'd be extremely embarrassed.
Also, day 2340 calling for Matsi to be replaced. Man is stealing a living.

Re: Zimbabwe Vs Sri Lanka | 1st ODI | 6th Jan 2024
Maybe that’s the combo we need, mufudza tying them down then bring Akram on so the bats play rash shots and lose their wickets! Something we've lacked. Bowling bowlers as units as opposed to individuals. They have jobs where they can work in tandem. Not every bowler has to be searching for a ...

Re: Zimbabwe Squad for Sri Lanka
TM has a valid point about underperforming cricketers. In saying that, he and Bvute have been the constant that have overseen these failures. What have they done to develop grassroots cricket? What have they done to provide the current national team with a coaching staff that would elevate their gam...

Re: Houghton Resigns (Confirmed by ZC)
Was bound to happen. As usual, it is not the ones who need to go that need to go. Matsi should be the first to go. He's been a constant through all of the failures, yet will get rewarded. If players are revolting, I can't imagine it was from the experienced guys. It's probably the ones who want to j...

Re: Match Thread: 2nd ODI Zimbabwe v Ireland
Is it finally sinking in that we've been very lucky of late with some of our results, a la T20WC, Bang series etc. We really need a new batting coach and an overhaul of the coaching set up. Just know that in a few years time the team will be coached by Prosper and Elton. Things are going to get much...

Re: ZC Changes
I've herd that Rajput will be installed as interim coach and that Hammy will be safe.
As for the Welch incident. So many issues within player behaviour and development speaks to the kind of system that exists and to the culture created and developed. We are just not professional enough
