Re: Match Thread - 1st ODI - Zimbabwe vs West Indies

I note that five of the current Zim squad (Matsikenyeri, Taibu, Sibanda, Price and Brent) were in the pre-dispute side that played in the last match where Zimbabwe beat the West Indies, in Harare in 2003 (WI won the series 3-2). That's not a bad turnover of players, considering...

Re: Match Thread - 1st ODI - Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Spoke too soon about them finishing the innings though - although very good effort by Chigumbura. Utseya in.

I have a sneaking suspicion we won't need him - these two will close the innings out.

Re: Match Thread - 1st ODI - Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Stuey & Elton are playing it around nicely at the moment. I predict around 270, if we don't lose any more wickets...

Re: Schedule Changes - Discrimination Against Bulawayo!

They never seem to do well at Bulawayo. The pitch at Queen's hasn't been the same since they lost their last groundsman, Noel Peck - up until then, it was one of the best-playing pitches on the international circuit, but now Zim seem to find it almost unplayable. Something that Queen's really need ...

...and Zimbabwe's pre-series rankings . Some of the players featured aren't playing this time around, but I'd like to think everyone else should be looking to improve their position. As for Zim's ODI ranking, we're probably too far behind Ireland to catch them this time around, but a win or two shou...

TV Coverage

Confirmed that this will be on Star Sports in Asia.
No coverage in UK or South Africa.
West Indies coverage TBC.

CricInfo are listing that they'll be providing live coverage, but I seriously doubt it'll be ball-by-ball...

Schedule Changes - Discrimination Against Bulawayo!

So the 3rd ODI has been moved from Bulawayo to Harare. The Chronicle in Bulawayo carried the news yesterday, along with a long gripe (now dropped off their website, sadly) about how ZC was discriminating against the City of Kings by not giving them more matches - the last ODI series, against Banglad...
