Re: Countdown to Test cricket: Who should bat at number 3?

If Ballance cannot make a poor side like Yorkshire then he is hardly likely to bolster our national side. ???? Yorkshire's top 3 in the County chapionship were as follows:- A.Lyth 1509 runs at 52, A.Gale 876 @ 46 & J.Rudolph 1375 at 52. It is interesting though that in your team you select a player...

Re: Countdown to Test cricket: Who should bat at number 3?

Has to Masakadza, it's where he has played all his recent 1st Class Cricket. 1. Taylor 2. Mawayo/Duffin/Ballance 3. Masakadza 4. Sibanda 5. Taibu 6. C.Ervine/Williams 7. Chigumbura It will be interesting what happens with Gary Ballance if by the middle of the English Summer he hasn't forced his way ...

Gerald Aliseni & Glen Querl

Appear to be back in Zim and playing:- http://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/302/302289.html http://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/302/302279.html I guess that Aliseni has finished Uni in RSA and Querl has failed to secure a contract in England. I'm aware it says G Quell on the scoreca...

Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe U19 in South Africa

In fairness Cock when I posted Bentley had only scored 18 runs in the series. Well batted him today (he also bowled well on the recent U17 tour to RSA). I agree Callum Price has bowled well and has potential. The purpose of my post was to point how well the 3 Manica's were doing. Has there ever been...

Re: Most overrated/underrated

And i disagree with the post that Wishart was an over-rated player. Definitely not. What did he do ?? Seriously mate, not having a pop or anything, but what did he do to show the world (or even us Zimbabwean supporters) that he was a class act. He played 90 ODI's, scoring 2 hundreds and scoring 5 h...

Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe U19 in South Africa

The three stand out players have been Sauramba, Nherera & Kasuza. All born and bred Manica's. Last year it was Chitara - what''s happening out there in the east? Whatever it is; it's a credit to all concerned.

Re: Most overrated/underrated

Underrated - Guy Whittall (historically), H.Masakadza, of all the current players the most likely to score a test century (current)
Overrated - H.Olonga/A.Campbell (historically), C.Coventry, one brilliant innings, poor record otherwise (current)

'Played' for the Eagles today. By my reckoning that's the first time in 3 years that he has played at any level in Zim. I think he's been at Uni in RSA. I wonder if he is now back for good? I don't know a lot about him; does anybody rate him?
