Re: Zimbabwe tour to australia july/august
Atish Chouthan is the pace star we should look out for, he is allready signed up by the Tuskers and he defiantly has some gas Atish did play once for the U19's last August against teh RSA but didn't get a bowl. He has been selected for the U19's tour to RSA this January. They have packed the squad ...

Re: Zimbabwe tour to australia july/august
Watch out for Ryan Bural thats my tip, he is a very good up and coming bowler. Zimfan, what does Ryan Burl bowl?. He was used purely as a middle order batsman (left hand) on the recent Zimbabwe U17 tour to RSA and din't bowl at all. I see he's now been selected to tour RSA again with the Zim U19's ...

Re: Zimbabwe tour to australia july/august
The swing bowlers from U/19 such as N.Waller and C.Price were the two leading wicket takers on the U/19 world cup tour but it is Chitara that has been pushed through because of his pace. Waller has been fast tracked, making his 1st Class debut of Zimbabwe 'A' on tour befor he had played for a franc...

Re: Zimbabwe tour to australia july/august
i think its great to have swing bowlers but they must have to be able to do something when the swing is gone from the ball. So i think thats mupariwa's downfall he to slow as soon as the ball stops swinging. Mupariwa has been a victim of increasing standards and greater depth in the available playe...

Re: Zimbabwe tour to australia july/august
'A' and Under 19 tours are going to be very important. I think it's fair to say that if S.Ervine, Compton and Ballance all commit to Zim that Zimbabwe would then have the deepest pool of talent since it's introduction into Test Cricket. However, developing the next tier of players must involve more ...

Re: Eligibilty to play for national team
I still think it has something to do with holding a Zimbabwean passport as has been seen with the Olonga & Durham cases. It is possible to a Zim passport as well as one from another country this is how Curran, Sean Ervine and Ireland were initially able to play county cricket - they each held Irish ...

Re: Eligibilty to play for national team
No it should be Vusi Sibanda and Terry Duffin to open the batting. Not Tino Mowoyo. Sibanda has a great technique and is best suited for the test arena Sloan, maybe so, however, Sibanda has not opened the batting at 1st Class level for many years. When he did he wasn't very successful at it. The se...

Re: Eligibilty to play for national team
While Compton was born in South Africa, I believe his parents at least lived in Zimbabwe for a while. He may have enough ties to the country already to qualify himself. The article says his mum is Zimbabwean - does this give him the right to apply for apply fo a Zimbabwean passport? There seems to ...

Re: Eligibilty to play for national team
I thought dual citizenship wasn't allowed in Zim. However it's long be quoted that the Ervine's (and Anthony Ireland) hold Irish passports. Will Compton need to renounce his British and South African Citizenship to play for Zim?
