Re: Where to from here?

I reckon most of the guys who are between 20 and 25 would have dealt with Mangongo before

Re: Where to from here?

He is probably Wes’ best chance of succeeding. He was one of the guys who backed him and he is probably going to make an exception of Wes and really make him change his ways. I’m not against this at all. I’m more interested in the programmers, his supporting stuff and the players involved. It will n...

Re: Zimbabweans in franchise league

I think Raza doesn’t get into the big 3 teams. SA he gets in because of the quota system. I don’t really follow New Zealand but for rest of the teams, he gets in. To me he is actually at the beginning of his journey. To be truly world class he is going to have to be trusted more by his IPL team and ...

Re: U19 World Cup | South Africa | Jan-Feb 2024

6 Franchises means the talent pool is too diluted. We already have extremely serious depth issues. I think what makes the most sense is the 15 national contracts (or whatever it is) status quo, plus a special 'development contract' of about 5 of the best under 25s, then a handful of upper franchise...

Re: U19 World Cup | South Africa | Jan-Feb 2024

https://www.businesslive.co.za/bd/sport/cricket/2023-09-03-cricket-sa-reports-financial-loss-but-its-not-as-bad-as-expected/ If you look at this you will realize exactly where our ceiling is. CSA is running at a massive loss. They are in a much better company than ours too. Probably 100x bigger. I d...

Re: U19 World Cup | South Africa | Jan-Feb 2024

That is very true. A kid will only take it seriously after the u19 World Cup and then they see there is something. The likes of Wes was different because they invested in them since they were maybe 13 or 14 so they saw what ZC could do for them. I’m thinking the only way you change this is by paying...

Re: U19 World Cup | South Africa | Jan-Feb 2024

About 7 of the Sri Lankan guys have already played domestic cricket from my count. I think Shungu is the only guy who has played domestic cricket for us and he didn’t even play. A couple of guys played the NPL though. Even when you look at the SA list. They weren’t naming schools, they were naming p...

Re: What is Zimbabwe Crickets ceiling?

The Sri Lankan left armer is better than Ngarava. Which is why I was surprised that some of their top order batters weren’t playing him that well. Chameera is ok but not amazing. I don’t know if there were injuries but I don’t think he is the best they have to offer. What happened to their guy with ...

Re: What is Zimbabwe Crickets ceiling?

There's a big incentive to bowl fast in SA, to play cricket actually, not just bowl fast. They do have a grass roots structure of sorts, but the difference is they have a lot of good schools they can channel these kids into. Ours is long gone. They have a university system that has facilities and d...
