Re: Sri Lanka in Bangladesh 2024

Given the scores so far and the pitch behavior, SL likely already have a big enough lead to clinch the Test.

That being said, theres no better time to chase 300 in the 4th innings than now.

Isn’t the socialist haven of Canada a relatively poor fit? I’d have thought Wyoming or Mississippi would be a more natural match.

Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc

What we seem to forget Kriterion is that teams like Kenya have made a WC Semi Final and have beaten the likes of India, Sri Lanka and West Indies in internationals including World Cups. Zimbabwe also almost made the semi finals in 1999 WC and had beaten the likes of India, South Africa, Australia a...

Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc

Yeah that's a good post. I agree. If we look at it, Ireland and Afghanistan have barely done anything to justify their test status. Which is why I never compare Zimbabwe with these two, because Zimbabwe have done a bloody good job as a test playing nation over the last 30+ years. Something which Ir...

Re: Sri Lanka in Bangladesh 2024

SL in firm control. Unbelievable stuff. An innings of a single partnership and now their seamers have hit back.

Bangladesh seem to have squandered the advantage of the first session away.

Re: Sri Lanka in Bangladesh 2024

Ahh the beauty of Test match cricket! Bangladesh started terrificly with 5 wickets in the morning session. Excellent attacking captaincy from Shanto, incredible tactical awareness, and even a superb run out with the just 1 stump to aim at by Shanto. SL were 57-5 inside the first 20 overs. But DDS an...

Re: Sri Lanka in Bangladesh 2024

We’ve won the toss and surprisingly elected to bowl first. Means we’ll be chasing last. Some rain the forecast as well. Apparently it’s supposed to be a green top in Sylhet with both sides picking 3 seamers. Bangladesh have given 21 year old Nahid Rana his cap after an impressive start to his FC car...

Madande is in great form and really prospering as a captain. I rate him! Others don’t but he’s shown a maturity that most of our young players haven’t, multiple times. A very fine player.
Yeah Madande has actually done about as well as any young rookie can do. Rare feat in Zimbabwe.

Re: Sri Lanka in Bangladesh 2024

Not as focused and reflective as I planned. But there's still a good 3 weeks left.

Hoping to see some good Test cricket before all this T20 stuff coming up.
