Re: Cash crunch threatens to derail Zimbabwe's season

Where does the ECB stand on Zimbabwe at the moment? I don't think the ECB's hawkish stance has shifted much, that's why matches against England are a non-starter for now. But the ECB has generally followed the British government advice and I think I'd say they have moved from hostile to neutral. So...

Re: Cash crunch threatens to derail Zimbabwe's season

Zim can "host" a couple ODIs at the Oval or Edgbaston in April or May - advertise it well, we could fill it up with patriotic Zimbos. Cash in hand. Pakistan would be ideal, Ireland or Afghanistan would do as well. What's the use of having a sizeable number of expats if you can't use them in a situat...

Re: [Match Thread] Day Night Pink Ball Test: SA vs Zimbabwe

Wow what a spectacle. I thought we competed well, in the afternoon we were bound to be punished for any loose balls but we largely gave up a healthy run rate. I hope as time goes, even though we lose we will stop putting these teams on a pedestal and start competing regularly. But I'm with Michael H...

Re: Do we have suggestions to clear off the heavy ZC debt?

Shouldn't the question be: how do you get the ZC making more money? Sure, clearing debt, cutting costs, etc are important things to do but ultimately useless if you can't get more money. In the short term, getting more sponsors, tv contracts is the only way. Long term though, it's about making the t...

Re: Taibu to launch Zim Cricket Academy based in Merseyside!

Didn't see an update on this fascinating thread. I'm sure you've all seen this article: http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/20776812/harare-based-rising-stars-added-zimbabwe-domestic-set-up Despite the heavy scepticism from everyone here, it might seem that Taibu pulled the tour off. If he can sp...

Re: [WT20 Match Thread] Ireland v Zimbabwe

163 for 5.

Positives:
Great start
Avoided the Zimbabwe Collapse
Decent rotation in the middle

Negatives:
Failed to capitalise towards the end, until the last over
Lost regular wickets
Ireland can chase this

Re: [WT20 Match Thread] Ireland v Zimbabwe

Why do the batsmen keep practicing playing shots across the body? Without foot movement, that's one of the big no nos. In the end, very good end to the powerplay. Decent start. Now just keep rotating strike and picking up the ones and two, punish the bad ball, keep the wickets in hand, and then pun...
