Wow this myers Kid can really play. Only 17 too. One for the future if ZC have a discernible youth policy
Yes, he batted really well. He is actually a black guy, apart from an English grandfather who gave him his surname. Very nice, well-mannered guy too, as I spoke to him this morning.

The game has started and looks like detailed ball by ball updates from ESPNcricinfo
Looks like we have to thank Freeman Chigovera for this again.

Yes, we can only await results from that, but the worst excesses of the past are no longer possible under ICC restraints, and as I say there has been improvement already in the last few months.

Re: It has been a challenge, but Zimbabwe have 'a viable game there' - Vince van der Bijl

I feel like I've read this script before for the last 10 or so years. At the moment, Zimbabwe Cricket has improved on what it was a few months ago. There is beginning to be more money available, as shown by the fact that they are now giving me paid work to do again (in US dollars, like all players ...

. . . who are well known for pinching players from the rest of the world. If Tatenda Taibu was still in ZC, I'm sure he would have put in plans to keep him for the country of his birth.

Re: Eddie Byrom and Nick Welch

I agree. The attack he was facing was quite modest, but he still batted very well. They got Somerset 9 down in the 2nd innings, so I wouldn’t say the bowling looked easy though either. Trescothick and Azhar Ali were opening, so it will be interesting to see where he bats.Never thought I’d be able t...

Re: Eddie Byrom and Nick Welch

The first class season has started here in England, and Eddie Byrom has already made his mark by scoring unbeaten 50 and and unbeaten 100 for Somerset vs Cardiff MCCU. Bowling for Cardiff was Brad Evans, also a Zimbabwean. The whole game was streamed live on youtube and is still able to view, if yo...

Re: Domestic t20 Tournament Thread

Why wasnt Malvolm Waller featured? this is the format where hes in our top 6 bats. I asked about Malcolm a few days ago, and was told that he left Rhinos in mid-season (unclear whether he decided to retire or for some other reason), and is now happily farming! (A dangerous occupation in Zimbabwe!) ...
