In his first period of captaincy, yes. But players have told me he was much better second time round. He learnt his lessons, and if he became England coach again I'm sure the same would apply.

Re: [MATCH THREAD] 2nd Test Afghanistan v Zimbabwe @Abu Dhabi
I wonder what happened to Mohammad Shahzad the wicket keeper? Anyone know where he went? The guy couldn't shut his mouth to save his life. Didn't he get banned? Nicely done openers. He was/is so incredibly over rated it's scary. Believed his onw myth more than anybody else I've seen. He was arrogan...

Re: Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)
Also, I think history will look pretty kindly on Tiripano's contribution to Zimbabwean cricket. Sure he's pedestrian pace, but he bowls dry and adds a bit with the bat. I dunno why, but he also just seems like a good bloke and puts in for the team. Also also, I was worried Zimbabwe would be stiffed ...

Re: Afghanistan Test & T20 Squad (No BT & Craig)
Gavin Ewing. Selector on tour Ah of course. Good bloke Boothy. I was a massive advocate for him to be included in the squad for NZ in 2012 when he was averaging 50 I think in the Logan Cup. Shame he was never re-included. Yes, it didn't help that he was accident-prone, and so often got injured at t...

Re: Afghanistan Tour 30 Man Training Squad
What are these other carriers like? I doubt I’d want to fly air Ethiopia or Kenya? I’m a very nervous flyer though They are obviously not as good as Emirates or Qatar (but even BA or QANTAS can't hold candles to them). But Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airways are from what I can tell the best Afric...

Re: Rocks vs Tuskers & Eagles vs Rhinos
Taylor, Williams are obsessed with sweeping in general. They just don't know when to put it that shot on the shelf. Can't comment on Taibu as I haven't seen him much. But I don't remember Hammy playing too many sweeps (maybe I'm wrong). Ervine is better than Taylor and Williams in that he doesn't t...

Re: Rocks vs Tuskers & Eagles vs Rhinos
How does shumba look in the longer format John ward? Does he have what it takes to succeed I would say so, yes. He looks a class act, plenty of time to play the ball and some very stylish strokes, especially his off-side drives. His shot selection is not always sound, but obviously he is still lear...

Re: Rocks vs Tuskers & Eagles vs Rhinos
Ervine just smoked snater for 16 in one over 😂😂 Yes, he seemed to decide the young upstart needed taking down a peg or two! Ervine at his best, like for much of today, looks a really world-class player, making his strokes with such ease and timing; what looks like a casual push beats the field and ...
