Re: Match Thread: Pakistan v Zimbabwe, 2nd ODI

I think Ian Nicholson went to South Africa to play for the Highveld Lions academy team. Not sure what Bennett is up to.

Re: SC Williams - Most talented young left hander in the World?

His dismissal today was a bit ugly. Towards the end of the match it was very disappointing to see the Zimbabwean Collapse © Just because it hits over number 40 doesn't mean you have to slog. We would have been much better off if Taylor and co had just continued to run the singles. If we were only 3 ...

Re: How fast do the Zimbabwean "quicks" bowl?

And Masakadza is a lot more experienced - he's been playing Tests since 2001, so maybe he can afford to have the added responsibility of bowling the occasional spell.

Re: How fast do the Zimbabwean "quicks" bowl?

135-140k ithink the speedometer set him 2006 in the carribean on occasions. We need a spearhead and a good first change. Its unfair on chibhabha to bowl first change. With an economy rate of over 7 runs an over i dont even think some intercontinental sides like Bermuda or U.A.E would bowl him first...

Re: How fast do the Zimbabwean "quicks" bowl?

Your view on Mupariwa sounds pretty spot on. I remember him in the Twenty20 World Cup, but if I recall he was a touch quicker than Brent.

You don't happen to have an idea of Rainsford's speed do you?

Re: Utseya's injured, we may need a bowling change

The final question of course, who captains the team? I think it has to be Tatenda Taibu. It could be any of Brent, Taibu or Masakadza (and maybe Williams is a dark horse) but I think Taibu will get the nod. I had been under the impression that Brent was the official vice-captain - although with Tai...

Re: How fast do the Zimbabwean "quicks" bowl?

May is suggest either mahwire or rainsford. I have criticised mahwire at ODI level before but he's the only one who can swing the ball at good pace.Might be able to unsettle the pakistani batsmen rather than the gentle pace they've been offered thus far Rainsford is also a good bet for me i am wond...

Utseya's injured, we may need a bowling change

Prosper Utseya appears to have torn a hamstring. It must be serious if he didn't bowl at all, he might not play in the next game (or the remainder of the series) - fingers crossed this is not the case though, his absence hurt us quite dearly. We need some changes. If it's a pitch suited for sp...

How fast do the Zimbabwean "quicks" bowl?

Following on from the brief discussion we had in the match thread about this, I compiled a list of the speeds the so called "quicks" bowl at  Feel free to view the page if you want to see more information, but I will include the meat of it here. http://www.brmtaylor.com/players/bowler_speeds.ht...

Re: Match Thread: Pakistan v Zimbabwe, 2nd ODI

I agree. If we had made 270... wow, it would have been a whole different game. Perhaps next time we should bowl first. I think these changes for the 3rd ODI: In: Maruma, Mpofu Out: Matsikenyeri, Utseya The middle order is our biggest problem. It seems very simple to me... Masakadza moves into the mi...
