Re: Match Thread: Griqualand West v Zim Provinces
As I suggested in the first innings when Kasteni came on, I think Rainsford might be injured, which will be a big blow. Manyumwa has stepped up though which is very good to see; he'd backing up what he showed in the Logan Cup last season. Hopefully Cremer can wrap up the tail after tea.

Re: Match Thread: Griqualand West v Zim Provinces
Waddy had the worst action ever so even if he was a decent FC player in Zimbabwe, I'm glad he's out of the picture. Alan did very well when he played for Zimbabwe A in a few series, so it's a shame he's off the scene.

Re: We *have* to win the 5th ODI
To be fair to Pakistan I expect they get the usual complaints that new players are never tried out, so 4-0 up is a pretty good opportunity to give some youngsters a go. I don't think that it is a slight to the Zimbabwe players, it's just a good time for Pakistan to try them out on a bigger stage. N...

Ouch, 2/27. FFS Charl Pietersen owning us - his record indicates he's pretty much rubbish as a bowler, too.

Re: We *have* to win the 5th ODI
Yeah, the Pakistan team gets worse every game. People talk about Zimbabwe devaluing international cricket.. well at least they pick the best eleven to them for each match. I think Pakistan doing this takes a lot more prestige away from playing a one day international than the fact that Zimbabwe and ...

Re: Match Thread: Griqualand West v Zim Provinces
Duffin's form is quite obviously shocking of late (how long has it been since he even got off the mark?!?) but I'm backing him to do well in this game. Place in the team under pressure, presumably good batting conditions chasing what will likely be a big first innings score - all tailor-made for a ...

Re: Match Thread: Griqualand West v Zim Provinces
I guess a night watchman will be sent in if there are less than 5 or 6 overs to go, probably Mahwire. Mahwire has been batting fairly high himself in these games, though - so high that you'd almost expect him to require a nightwatchman himself if he was next in with a few overs remaining! I'd be ba...

Re: Match Thread: Griqualand West v Zim Provinces
Hmm. Kasteni comes on to bowl his straight breaks despite Rainsford only having bowled 9 overs. I hope he's okay. Kasteni getting belted as well, it's worth noting.

Re: Match Thread: Griqualand West v Zim Provinces
Bossenger goes as well now and Mahwire has 3. Big wicket as both set batsmen depart. Hendricks is highly rated in South African circles though - still a real danger.

Re: Match Thread: Griqualand West v Zim Provinces
I'm very excited to see how Cremer will go in Franchise cricket when it comes around. He's conquered all comers in levels lower than that, but it'll be his first real test outside his stint in Test cricket which was quite some time ago now. Spinners typically haven't done very well in SA Franchise c...
