Re: NPL Fixtures 4th October

Harare Kings win toss and elect to bat first against Great Zimbabwe Gladiators win toss, elect to bat first against Rainbow HK.jpeg I was at the Gladiators-Rainbows match - very poor batting by Gladiators, just wild indiscriminate hitting for the most part, no attempt by the top order to build an i...

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Live streaming

Harare Kings on paper looking the strongest. Interesting that the national captains are not captains for their respective sides. The format is each team plays each other once and who is top after 8 matches, they win the comp. I'm sure the national captains will rarely be available to play for these...

Re: Is this not the perfect time to start over?

The last I heard, cricket is one of the sports not permitted to be played in this country by the government under lockdown rules. As for South Africa and the ICC, South Africa would be considered much more of a loss to world cricket than Zimbabwe, so I am expecting the law of expediency to come into...

Re: Carlisle thing

Yes, I remember Stuey did not always look assured at the crease, but I remember two occasions in particular I saw him when he was confident and determined, and showed himself a player of real class. Zimbabwe v India, June 2001, at Harare Sports Club. Zimbabwe needed to score 157 to beat India, a ner...

Thanks eugene, great to read those answers. Unfortunately for jaybro, the Fletcher vs Curran debate rages on... :)
I would give my vote to Fletcher as the more reliable, the cooler head. Curran could certainly do great things, but he could also do crazy things, certainly less predictable.

OK, I have had fun conversing back-and-forth with Gerald Peckover, he is a nice guy. John Ward , he does indeed remember you! How did you get into cricket as a youngster? Who were your mentors and heroes in cricket? I started playing cricket at my junior school Courtney Selous in Harare at age 7. M...

Re: Jackie du Preez no more

Sad, he was a real fighter whom I saw play many times. He did not actually die from a heart condition, though - it was cancer, which also cost him one of his eyes before it finally took his life.

Re: Gerald Peckover

Very nice guy. Perhaps he might remember me, as I was involved in schoolboy cricket when he worked for Mark Manolios - please give him my best wishes.
