Re: Zimbabwe bowling situation..
Keeping two high profile bowling coach is worst desicion from ZC. Heath Streak is one of the most demanding bowling coach at present, he is serving as head coach therefore keeping Ntini is just waste of money, moreover he was never seen as coach even in club cricket of CSA. No doubt he is a legend, but his coaching skills are waste.
Zimbabwe should remove Ntini and bring full time batting coach someone like Dave Houghton, Carl Hooper or Murray Goodwin

Re: Zimbabwe bowling situation..
Ntini's contract is inexplicable. You don't just bring back people, they firstly have to want to come back, not only into the ZC fold, but back to Zim. People are currently trying to figure out how to leave with all speed.
Everyone thinks a change in coaching staff is the answer but what everyone seems to forget is that once you are at international level you're expected to be the finished article and know your game. The coaches are supposed to be tweaking small things and perhaps helping mentally. We're short of players at this level, we are having to pick guys still learning their game. Not only that, but few of those have the capacity to go to the next level, even with the best of coaching. Anyone who's seen the top teams in other countries and what their coaches have to work with will know the dearth of talent we have here. There's a few good guys, but too few.

I guess this will keep us going for a few more years. I say it a bit resignedly because it will keep our current admin in the manner in which they've become accustomed. It looks like ICC will turn a blind eye and allow them to continue doing what they do best.

Re: Zimbabwe bowling situation..
How is that good for Zimbabwe?
I might be misunderstanding it, but when they say 9-3 structure it sounds like the top 9 (well done to Bangladesh that they are now considered worthy) will play a league structure while Zim, Afg and Ire will have "Test" status but will rely on other countries to want to arrange series with them.

Re: Zimbabwe bowling situation..
Well it's not finalised yet but I see the positives as this-
It looks like we will remain a full member. Just this is huge, because we don't deserve it.
In tests, each member of the top 9 will have to play one of the bottom 3, so we will get a couple of games, which we're hardly getting now. Being formally downgraded to the bottom 3 is hardly the end of the world, we know where we are anyway. I honestly believe we're extremely lucky to remain in the mix.
We will get at least 13 ODI's and against all the big teams.
T20 is still undecided.
In terms of the volume of cricket we might sneak in a few more games. We might eventually get to play England as well.
The downside is that our days are numbered unless we miraculously sort our admin out and a few guys start playing out of their socks.
How have you interpreted it?

Why do you post this rubbish?
"Ngarava is inconsistent"
Ngarava has played 1 List A and 1 Twenty20 match in his career and hasn't played an U19 match since February 2016
How the hell does that make him "Inconsistent"
Re: Zimbabwe bowling situation..
My interpretation of the new model. We will play
Tests
Between 3-6 Tests over a 2 year period against 3 full members (assuming either 1 or 2 Test series) and 2-4 Tests over the same 2 year period against the 2 associates(assuming 1 or 2 Test series).
ODIs
Minimum 36 ODIs over a 3 year period against all 9 full members and 3 associate members.
Slightly better than the current arrangement IMO. It means we will tour far more often as the ODI league games will be played on a home and away basis.

Re: Zimbabwe bowling situation..
Ya it looks mostly positive in terms of games, but we need something done about the people that have ruined our cricket. They've been extended a life line here. Three more uninterrupted years of looting and maladministration coming our way.
Re: Zimbabwe bowling situation..
The problem is there's not too many reliable people in the background waiting to save the day in the impossible event of being able to swap them out. Everyone has either died of old age or disinterest because it's been going on so long.
