future tours

Post by r@ndom »

it seems that the next full international commitments are the twenty20 and 50-over world cups, which means february or march i think before Zimabwbe plays competitive top table cricket again which is quite a while. i know a lot of cricket has been played recently but next years fixtures need looking into. if i remember correctly sri lanka and india both owe tours to ZC, i can't imagine india helping at all so i guess the only hope is sri lanka or just playing against kenya over and over

50-over World Cup isn't until 2011.

Next FTP-mandated tour is to West Indies in March, that coincides nicely with the World T20. New Zealand also owe us a tour, which is currently pencilled in for June (or so CNZ & ZC announced when the postponement was confirmed), but that's subject to the NZ government allowing their side to tour.

o yeh the world cupis in 2011 not 2010 sorry. good news about playing the windies though, whether it is home or away zimbabwe will definitely be competitive and if the new zealand matches come to fruition that is also good news as zim hasn't had a fixture against them for some time

we could do with 3 good tours before the world cup and SA should give us a series to fine tune ourselves and maybe new zealand + sri lanka/india. i think we need 4 new faces in the team, our spin department is well covered, just the pace bowling and batting.
