Peobably redeployed to junior structures, maybe under 19s, which he coached with reasonable success, or CFX Academy. He's not really a bad coach; just short of vital expirience and certainly in the long run a far better option than the dithering Kevin Curran

Butcher, 56, a former Surrey coach who played one Test for England in 1979, takes control on April 1.Dont think he will coach the side in the windies.

Butcher, 56, who was cricket manager at Surrey from 2006 to 2008, replaces Walter Chawaguta in the role. His first assignment will be Zimbabwe's tour of West Indies starting next month.

But this says he will coach the side in the windies.Have to wait and watch.

That's an extremly big if Heggy  But it'd be a wonderful day for Zimbabwean Cricket if he did. Doubt he ever will though, he's firmly placed within the England setup, and it looks like he's set to be the coach for a long time yet.

According the The Herald, Butcher will only be an 'observer' for the Windies tour:
Butcher, who flew back to England yesterday, would join the team in West Indies in their last three games of the Caribbean tour but as an observer.

He will officially begin his duties after this tour once all the formalities are complete.

Zimbabwe are scheduled to fly to the West Indies today with Walter Chawaguta in charge.
