http://www.essexcricket.org.uk/pages/po ... ch-103.phpEssex all-rounder Grant Flower will become the new Zimbabwe Batting Coach at the end of the England domestic season.
Grant, 39, flew last week to Zimbabwe for an interview and was given the role in his home country. Grant will play his final season for Essex in 2010 – having joined the county in 2005 he quickly became, and of course remains, a firm favourite with the Essex crowd. Grant, born in Harare, Zimbabwe is looking forward to the challenges ahead but is clearly focused on the fast-approaching domestic season.
Grant spoke to www.essexcricket.org.uk – “At the end of this season it will probably signal the end of my playing career and I do not want to have any regrets. I start my new role with Zimbabwe in October and have the main objective of helping them reach test status once again. At the end of this season I aim to complete my Level 4 Coaching Course”.
“I have had five great years at Essex and I am looking forward to my sixth season and want to give everything that I have. The Essex fans, the club, staff and players have been brilliant and I am very much looking forward to the season ahead”.

Re: Grant Flower confirms depature
Awsome news !!
You're never quite sure with Zimbabwe Cricket until it's been set in stone. I wish Grant all the best, and praise him for giving Zimbabwean Cricket another shot. Hope he achieves his Level 4 oaching certificate. My father is a level 3 coach at Lancashire now, and it took him 2 years to complete.
