Zimbabwe Under 19 disaster continues under disaster coach Utseya & Lamb

Post by Stoneman Returns »

Zimbabwe's poor performance in Under 19 Cricket World Cup Continues under three time under 19 appointed coach controversial & racist Prosper Utseya. This time Zimbabwe U19 side was bit experienced with players like Madhevere, Myers, Shumba, Chesa, Dane Schadendorff playing under 19 cricket since last 4 years and few of them also had the experience of playing past Under 19 World Cups.

Zimbabwe went South Africa early for a quad nation series and few wins against strong opposition showed that this team can do well in the world cup, but it was series of disappointment.

ZC continuing their mistakes in appointed failure coaches like P Utseya, G Lamb in under 19 coaching staffs. Both are working with under 19 cricket since 2014-15 and have'nt shown any improvement.

ZIM U19S IN WORLD CUPS UNDER UTSEYA & LAMB's COACHING

2016 - 10th Spot

2018 - 11th Spot

2020 - 11th Spot
Success depends on Aggressive Instinct

Mangongo was fired for something similar but to be fair they have had some tough groups.India and Australia in 2018 and 2 Semi finalists this year. I was disappointed to be honest but I saw enough to give them a pass this time around.

The real challenge will come next time as Bawa is apparently the only guy eligible from this squad.

This Side was the best side in last three years and many experienced players were there, after showing so much positive in that odi series its really a disaster performance. Zimbabwe was in driver seat in that Pakistan game but lack of sense which comes from coaching staffs were not given to them, after such a brilliant start by the openers, there was huge lack of understanding of game siatuation from the midle order that hurt Zimbabwe U19

I would tend to agree with BM. If you have been in charge of a side for about 4 years and had pretty much the same side in that time, and at the end of the 4 years you are finishing in the same if not lower position, then you are clearly not doing a good enough job.

The coaches knew the side they would have and would have time to prepare their strategy and game plan and should have been working on how they could improve for the next time. Not have any small term goals, but long term goals. The work done now (2018) is intended for success in 2020. There is no overnight success.

How many of these guys can we say at actually national team ready and in a system that will see them progress to the A side or national team.

Losing culture produces losses =Zimbabwe cricket .batting people in different positions every game and no consistency In structure , wrong bowlers bowling in the wrong times of games ect this is what you get . Even the Aussie under 19 team was guilty , the team was picked months before they actually had to as they have favourites . How Murray Goodwins son was not in the Aussie team baffles me , he is in the best 10 batsman in Western Australia already . Politics is Probaly the best way to describe what I’m saying ... yeh let’s go with politics .
The Zimbabwe Cricket team have found Ebola in one of their members, but they're not concerned because they have also found Ebatsmen and Efielda!

ZC ticked the box, produced a competitive side and didn’t piss anyone off by winning anything. There will be bonuses all round.

Just noticed that crappy NZ team made the semi finals. I think we got an unlucky draw.

That’s tournament cricket though. We had that one chance and bottled it. That’s why this format sucks. They should have a round robin, it would take a lot longer, but would be a better option. ZC will dine off NZ making the semis.
