I like most of us fourmers over the lat two years have been very critical of Prosper Utseya’s captaincy but I think we all need to give the lad credit for the way he performed in the first T20.
The guy led by example opening the bowling was brilliant in the field and made several very good decisions. He decision to take Cremer of after 3 over’s and keep him back was a brilliant move and he kept men in the ring throughout the West Indies innings. All this points towards market improvement in his captaincy which I hope he continues into the ODI series.
Utesyas bowling over the last month has also been of a very high standard as he was brilliant in the T20 domestic final where he extracted large turn which is something he has never really been know for. And on Sunday he bowled beautifully to the left hander’s and he will be key to the outcome of the match when he bowls against the left hander’s including Gayle and Chanderpaul.
Even though I accept that he is the third best spinner in the squad (Behind Cremer and Price) I think we have an obligation to praise Utseya for his improvement in both his captaincy and his bowling and we shouldn’t forget this guy is only 24.
A captains performance

Re: A captains performance
Zimfan, I think Prosper Utseya's intellect and captaincy have been highly undervalued and confused by the reserve that he shows as a person. He is a very thoughtful leader perhaps even more so than Taibu. People talk about strange decisions, but based on what? As far as I know some of the strangest people around have been revealed in time as some of the most brilliant.zimfan1 wrote:I like most of us fourmers over the lat two years have been very critical of Prosper Utseya’s captaincy but I think we all need to give the lad credit for the way he performed in the first T20.
