An Excellent Video

Post by sloandog »

I'd like to make a video of Zimbabwe Cricket on how far it's come in the past 4 years. It'd be about 6 minutes long using photos and videos from 2006-2010. I'm not quite sure as to what music i'm going to pick for the video, probably from the band " The Sweet ", " Fox On The Run". Can anybody help me out on making one. I know Crimson Avenger has made a couple or three whilst you've been on the forum. Thanks. Much appreciated :D
And get this, if it's good enough, my cousin knows an editor from crcinfo and he said he'd take it in and decide wether it could be used on the site. How awsome is that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

Sounds like an excellent idea. I would love to help in anyway possible but unfortunately I lack the computer skills to be of much use. I can certainly recount all of the great moments over the last four years however.

As long as we create the videos for personal pleasure, its fine. Most of the pics and videos are copyright of various institutions, so we would get very little to work with if we are planning to make it publicly available on sites like Cricinfo without relevant permissions.

In fact, the videos I or anyone else have put up are not entirely "legal" in that sense.

I'm currently half-way through the video. I've decided to begin from the year 1999 CWC where we played in England, to the West Indies series that we've all just witnessed in 2010. All the pictures and videos that i have so far have been from the internet and from a very reliable source based in Namibia. The first half of the video focuses on the old heroes and our so called "Glory Days". Guys like: Andy Flower, Grant Flower, Eddo Brandes, Heath Streak, Henry Olonga, Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin and many many more. I've used photos that you guys may not have seen before, photos that my source took when he last whatched Zimbabwe in the World Cup. All the videos match the music, and the timing of the shots and music are perfect. It's taken me a long time to get to this stage, so it'll take me a while longer  But i just thought i'd let you guys know as to where i'm currently at. The video itself is going to be fantastic, that i can promise !!

Music in the first half of the video:
. "Fox On The Run" by the "Sweet"
. "Blockbuster" by the "Sweet"

Estimated time:
15 minutes

As u can probably tell i like the Sweet
