bowling at 137km/ph at this level doesn't matter u need to have movement with the ball bligie used to bowl 145-150 moving it as well he was a handfull he came back in SA BOWLED a bit sharp with no movement and got cained.
all fast bowlers in zim need to move the ball.
streky was never express he could swing it all day if the conditions weren't suitable he bowled a heavy ball.
panyangara was a genuine swing bowler as well,he is playing in nottingham, not the fastest but with his rythm he bowled good pace.
chigumbura moves it of the seam in.
i don't know any1 else in zim who can move the ball as a genuine pacer
shingi at his pace needs to do more with the ball coz up and down u will need to be express.
mpofu needs to bowl from over the top he used to swing it

I've never seen Blignaut bowl 93mph mate. I whatched him bowl 88mph in 04, but no quicker. But looking at our pace attack at the moment, we need all the pace we can get, and though 85 clicks may not be rapid, it's as quick as we're going to get in the near future. Streaky, at one point, was express and could bowl sharp. But like you said he then settled into a line and length role, being quick enough. Panyangara was sharp ! On the right deck he was one of our quickest bowlers in recent times, and its a real shame he isn't playing any more. One bowler that comes to mind is Ed Rainsford. He can swing the ball at pace when his rhythm is up.

I definitly think Panyangara was the quickest we had in a while the best memories I have of him was Haydens Goldie where the ball came waaaay quicker than he expected and the dismissal of Vaughn who was also beaten for pace and of course seeing KP whack him for a huge six that was still rising as it went over the stands at Harare sports club...new ball please.

In WC 2003, Blig was clocked at 148 kph (92.5 mph), third fastest bowler in the competition behind Akhtar and Bond.

Exactly. This mad search for raw pace isn't going to ensure much. Someone like Streaky is exactly what we need.

And thats the answer. Rainsford must be our pace spearhead in absence of better options. He has a lovely smooth action too.

yep true rainsford can swing the ball away my he should definatly play and surely streaky will teach him to swing it in aswell as thats the only thing against him but of all in zim he is the most cosistent in terms of line and length.panyangara should be brought back he opened with rainsford in u19 and did well with him i remember vs england in zim rainsford had good figures.

Ay where can we petition for Panyagara to come back and at least let him have a go so we can stop keeping him at the back of our minds, the boy is going to turn 30 while we keep saying Panyangara this and Panyagara that.
