..Garry ballance ..
personally i dont know much about this kid but he is rated highly by everyone i talk to . he is very young and has played first class cricket in england , not bad for a youg fella. do you think he is that solid opening bat we need? or is he just a promising young player i am very keen to learn about him and if anyone knows if he is wanting to make a international come back ?

I whatched him early on in the season in the pro 40 competition. I think he played against Durham who have a very strong pace battery in Steve/Ben Harmison, Liam Plunket, Graeme Onions etc. And in all honesty he looked out of his depth. I could see a lot of talent, but he could just lack the confidence at the moment. He did play two superb on drives that game off Steve Harmison, something that you dont see very often, especially from one as young as Ballance.andybligz wrote:personally i dont know much about this kid but he is rated highly by everyone i talk to . he is very young and has played first class cricket in england , not bad for a youg fella. do you think he is that solid opening bat we need? or is he just a promising young player i am very keen to learn about him and if anyone knows if he is wanting to make a international come back ?
If he does indeed make a comeback, he'd be a welcomed addition as he has a solid technique and all the shots to succeed.

yeh fair enough with harmison and onions in there they are test match quality players. im sure with a few games under his belt and comfidence he will become a qualitly player especially with the likes of grant flower and heath streak around him not to mention taylor and masakadza as great role models

Can he break the Masakadza-Taylor partnership at the top?

Not atall !! He's not that type of flamboyant batter. He's a much more conservative player, your classic test match opener. Taylor should open the batting in the ODI format. They have all the shots and find the boundrys early on, it's Zimbabwean Crickets new look on ODI CricketBoundary wrote:Can he break the Masakadza-Taylor partnership at the top?
