The whereabouts of...
Re: The whereabouts of...
It is always a shame to lose players so young - such as Dylan Higgins. He is still young enough to return in a couple of years and contribute to zimbabwean cricket. Remember Masakadza left at one point to go to university.

I agree, Zim however cannot get too obsessed with the retention of every schoolboy cricketer. If the U19's produce 5-6 quality cricketers every year this is enough. Last years U19's had 3 leg-spinning all-rounders and Mushangwe and Mutombodzi appear to be ahead of Higgins in the pecking order. I think it would do him good to go to Uni in RSA for 3 years and then come back as H.Masakadza and M.Waller have done.eugene wrote:It is always a shame to lose players so young - such as Dylan Higgins. If we expect the U19's to produce 6 good players every year, last years U19's produced Mushangwe, Moor, Mutumbodzi, and Chatara; who do people think could be the other 2 to make it? On what I have seen Mazhawidza (it's sad for him that 50% of the wicketkeeping positions in the franchises are taken up by overseas players!) and Mugava are technically the best. However Muzhange, Chimhawhiwa and Mawudzi have all produced godd performances at senior level.
PS I have excluded Nathan Waller as he is still qualified for the U19's this season

According to his posts on Facebook, I think he is at university in New Zealand.

Not such a bad place to be I guess.
