Disgraceful score. Not even enough in a T20 match. The culprits: Chigumbura, Coventry, and Taibu. Even batting slower than Taylor, Chucky still managed to get himself out first. Why not just drop Tibba and keep him for the Tests. Dont know what batting hes gonna be doing in those slow pitches. Still not convinced about Craig Ervine. Today showed that if he doesnt get 40 he can be costly.
Wasted practice match. Now what is our much vaunted spin trio supposed to bowl at?

Spinners are barely getting a look in anyway - Mpofu and Shingi taking the lead, and being hammered for 7+ & 9+ an over respectively.

Hint: it's the sub-continent. USE SPINNERS. Although Pricey's going for a pricey 6/over himself (2 overs bowled).

Batting coventry had the highest strike rate =72
Bowling Utseya had the best economy of 4.6
we are not rotating strike enough, probably waiting 4 ball to hit for four.

Ah well, I'm not too worried. Beat Ireland in the next game and get the confidence back up.
Poor from the batters, but I'm really liking this combination of Taylor and Coventry at the top, very powerful and destructive combination if it comes off, and it certainly payed off today as we had a good opening partnership. Time for the rest of the team to fire now

Nice little bit of snark in the ZC match report:
The second is that no team in the
world is more efficient and ruthless than the Proteas in a pressure-free
environment. Add an element of 'match situation' - not to mention pressure -
and the Proteas can look a very different team.

Yeah ZC need 2 read a bit more widely SA crack "choke" underpressure.
I would like 2 know why zim batsmen cant handle spin when we have a bevy of spinners in the setup.

Thanks Bayhaus for bringing BD match. I think Bangladesh should have chosen batting after winning the toss. Bangladesh lost a good opportunity to bat longer. But sure, it's a big win, kind of revenge of 2003 WC.

After looking at the dismal perfomance in the warm ups my starting 11 is now as follows

1.Taylor - he's the best batsmen we have
2.Coventry - shown a lot of promise
3.Chakabva - has done well in this position before, bring him in b4 a collapse
4.Ervine - promising
5.Williams - stabilised the inning a bit yesterday
6.Lamb - allrounder
7.Chigumbura - captain
8.Utseya
9.Creamer
10.Price
11.Mpofu

In Taibu we have our own Mohammed Ashraful, he plays well just when you think he should be dropped. One big innings every 7 or so games is just not good enough. As our most experienced batsmen i think he has been given enough chances. It high time we try out some other players, give Duffin a chance surely he cant be worse than Tiba. I like this guy, i know him personaly but we have to move on. Lets reserve him for test crickep.
