I have to ask what they bring to the table in an investigation about how to improve things.
And if the kangaroo court is 3 weeks long are they calling in people to listen to what they have to say?
How deep is the remit? Do they see where the money is being wasted?
Will their findings and recommendations be made public?

First recommendations needs to be - cancel the Batonka Stadium.
Find some selectors that are beyond reproach.
Get to the bottom of why DH has "lost the change room"

If a well liked and respected guy like Dave lost the changing room the players are the biggest snowflakes ever and the new guy has no hope. This is Dave we’re talking about, not rajput or some other ZC shill.

First question is there a cricketing person on that kangaroo committee? What cricket do they know and what recommendations would they honestly give.Googly wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 3:16 pmI have to ask what they bring to the table in an investigation about how to improve things.

ONE BIG THING people don't realise is Houghton had become or is bigger than anyone at ZC. No one had the balls to fire him. They initially 'pulled the trigger' but later on back-tracked on his dismissal. No one on that cricket committee he reports to would dare say a word or challenge him.
He chose to just step-down just to avoid drama and keep his reputation intact and also no doubt he loves cricket especially in Zimbabwe has has a big heart for the country. Hence he is being 're-assigned' and will continue helping with development.
Anyways ZC is a retirement home you always find something for everyone. But it will be a big mistake for ZC to completely cut DH off. Director of Cricket is a small role for him he needs to be in charge of all ZC development structures and player pathways.

Re: Names of the Zimbabwe Cricket Board
ZC should just use the SL tour as a make or break tour for the current players. They should start rebuilding now in preparation for the 2027 World Cup. Im sure they can pinch 3 or 4 current U19 after the U19WC. The road will be bumpy but its the right thing to do. Have proper development structures and implement clear player-pathways.
Most of the current guys are toxic and we should get rid of them. They listen to no-one, turns up late for practice sessions. They think they are big now. I can mention names and Blessing Muzarabani is one such big disappointment. I can go on and on

You can't go from u19 to international men's cricket unless you're Harry Brook or Tendulkar or a 29 year old Afghan.
People must stop talking about rebuilding with u19 youngsters because it's ignorance and just downright tiring
What they need is a pathway into our ordinary domestic and if they don't make runs then they're ordinary.
Before that they need to show they can do it at club level. That's the route. It's mostly now in place again. 20 years it's taken.
The pathway into franchise is largely blocked by ordinary players that are part of the furniture, unless someone at ZC gets excited about the 7th next young Brian Lara that's come their way, then he gets the red carpet treatment and usually doesn't do very well.
The good youngsters can have their progress sped up by an academy, if we had one
