Also our bowling attack looked great on this pitch and conditions too so you are being unfair.

Ya we're on a hiding to nothing on most fronts. Admin is content though, cash miraculously rolls in and nothing changes for them barring periodic pay rises. One of the few jobs where failure is irrelevant.

The real way you get better u19 squads is by bothering BEFORE guys reach the age of 17/18. The immediate preparation this time HAS been really very good but batsmen in particular need effort and development much earlier. We desperately need to revitalise the u13 and u16 squads/tours and have a proper pathway.

This is the only way.
Some 19 teams are filled with extremely good quality kids who have had years of coaching plus natural ability
It’s almost unsafe to ask kids from one school competition to match it
We have low numbers and the only way to match the big teams is to go about things smarter.
Without knowing the ins and outs I suspect this used to happen in the old days and that’s why Zimbabwe overachieved.

Revised target we need 99 off 52 balls. Extremely unlikely considering how hard scoring has been all day.
