Re: BUTCHER'S NEED FOR SPEED
Many can understandably be forgiven for writing him off as a nutcase. Personally, as we all should, I'm glad that he's in the picture. I'm not sure in what capacity he's present in a national team camp, but if some in this forum have considered the likes of Vusi&Ervine as possible openers why not Mark! He might not have a franchise, but he played sufficient games in the season for him to be assessed by. I'm sure now that the expats are back in Eng, maybe the powers that be at my beloved Tuskers can have another look at this unique fellow. Surely if Ozias can forgive him for burning down ZC property they should be able to as well.

Re: BUTCHER'S NEED FOR SPEED
I think he is possibly be the most solid opener we can have at the moment. He has the solidity and that toughness that we lack at the top of our order. There is no doubt he is crazy after the blow to the Head but i think we may need a nutter in the team to get us out of our rigid style of safe cricket.Besides that he had a decent domestic season and we may need a mature player at the top with Duffin my proposed batting line up would be.What happened to Trevor Gripper and Dion Ebrahim
1.M Vermulen
2. T Duffin
3. H Masakadza
4. B Taylor
5.C Ervine
6.E Chigumbura
7.T Taibu
8.G Lamb
9.G Cremer
10.A Ireland
11.E Raisnford ( If he can last the rigors of test cricket )

Dont know what the problem is with rainsford other than being Injury prone, in the last series he played in he got 10 wickets against Ireland in three matches.gargamel wrote:Okay back to the topic at hand how many genuine quicks do we have in the squad that are nearly at international level . i am tiered of seeing Chris Mpofu , Shingi (no control) Masakadzaand Ed Rainsford.
