Our national side would struggle in their franchise, as weak as it is. When we're playing internationals, and we now have a busy schedule, we'd have a biased B/C side representing us down there. We would get killed.

We would probably need to pepper the 3 teams with SA players. Two squads we would have to avoid that though.

We could probaly entice some diaspora players into such a comp like Schadendorf, but then ZC wont do that because of race. Again.

Yeah I dont like black south africans. Disease ridden, aggressive, murderous and lazy.

Its disgraceful how they murder zimbabweans just looking for a job.

Alot of people have wanted to actually reduce the teams or even copy the model they did one year and have Mashona and matabeleland join the SA league, but that doesnt satisfy ICC domestic requirements. Some people here, like our Italian tapeball mate, believe that by expanding you give players exposure, but I woUld strongly argue that is the role of the NPL.
If it were me I would have 3x Logan Cup teams and have a stronger NPL

Few days ago I was kinda againts because of less pool of player, selection etc. And mainly because SA don't care about Zimbabwe.
But we could have some top 3 or 2 team from ZC (maybe from the NPL if not "Mashona- and Matabeleland" model) and top 2 or 1 other african teams facing strong SA guys, if they're willing help. They're part of ACA so they have to play some sort of significant role as massive organisaytion in Africa. I could see strong development in Zimbabwe's club level cricket if SA is around.

There are only about 500 adult cricketers playing in the country. Finland probably has close to that. Think about that. Maybe my numbers are off but we worked it out here a few years back.

I think it has doubled in couple in years. Lot of south asians are migrating here and arranging some T10 tournaments.

We can’t reduce the number of franchise teams. If we do, the 35 year old ZC boys will still be getting picked every week and the actual promising younger players won’t get a look in.

The likes of Melch, Nelch and Frost would probably never play franchise again if there was only 3 teams.

Not to mention the old back room staff on retainers as team managers and lower order batting coaches.

ZC has spent quite a bit this year on test matches and such. I wonder what the working budget will be for franchise teams and the price money thereoff. We have a lot off players opting for coaching gigs abroad than playing for pocket change.

I do wonder if the ZC brass will run out of patience with the 35 yr old types for not improving.

We have seen ZC give a leg up to quota players repeatedly and in return, these players have either stalled or gone backwards.

At some point the powers that be may feel they have embarrassed them by not taking the opportunities.

The best way to teach them a lesson would actually be to banish them and pick 8 white/curry guys next series.

I’m not kidding in the sense these guys have thrown the gifts back in ZC’s face and ZC themselves bear the brunt of this criticism so they have incentive to switch tactics.
