I see someone on X has made an allegation that Ronak Patel is over-age. I hope not.
ZC are good at it though, about the only thing.

Overage for what? He’s too old for the next WC yes. But then he isn’t in the squad. His younger brother Druv is, and he’s still at school so must be okay I think.

Seems like there’s several ways to make the u19 squad;

- Be the son of the long-term national batting coach
- Or be yet another son of the ZC MD.
- Or attend the official ZC school, Wise Owl.
- Or be willing to drive hours to Highfield every day to train in Chigumbura’s ‘academy’.

If the none of the above apply, then I assume you aren’t eligible for U19 selection.

You've absolutely nailed it. What a travesty. This has to be the most outrageous u19 squad theyve ever come up with and theyve fucked a lot of people over the years.

You missed one point- you can pay to play as well. If you sponsor you can pick most of the team yourself. Let's not forget the Lake XI where he picked 6 of his over-age mates.

I know for a fact that Ryan Burl of all people was overage in that squad that Lake captained. I think we are talking by weeks or a couple of months though. Not years like all the south Asian teams :lol:

So these are just two ordinary U19 teams nothing special. Just that Zimbabwe choose to select some dubious team leaving other the country's best players and are out classed.
