Hello,

Discovered this forum recently and after delving into several threads, I was captivated by the engaging writing of some members, prompting my decision to join. Hailing from Khulna, Bangladesh, I'm genuinely thrilled to be part of this community, particularly given the excitement surrounding the ongoing Bangladesh-Zimbabwe series. Looking forward to sharing and discussing cricket thoughts with fellow enthusiasts here!

Thank you.

Hi all.

I am a Kiwi cricket history buff, who has long had an affinity with Zimbabwean cricket. My favourite players to watch were Andy Flower, Paul Strang and Brendan Taylor. Paul Strang resides in New Zealand now. Being a diminutive sort of chap myself, I enjoyed watching Tatenda Taibu play too.

I have a large autograph collection of test and ODI players, but the Zimbabwean side of this has fallen away. NZ vs Zim, used to be a very regular series, but that has been a thing of the past for many years now. I am hoping to connect with someone that can help me to build this up again.

I'm also interested to learn of the up and comers on the Zimbabwe scene. I hope that cricket has picked up again after a pretty volatile recent history.

Thanks

Hi, been on here before but forgot my login years ago. Moved to Northern Ireland some years ago so with the Zim Ireland test thought it was high time to get back into it and stop lurking in the background.

Hi - I’ve been following Zim cricket (national team and domestic) closely for the last 5 or so years. I’m based in the UK and thought it was time to start contributing myself after lurking in the forum for the last year!

Hey,
I am a passionate ZC fan from Finland and I've been following zimbabwean cricket since 2015. So like all we have shared great memories and heartbreaks ever since that timelime.
One of the greatest moment was when they beat New Zealand in 1st ODI in Harare and Craig scored his 1st hundred. If we look the whole 2015 from the context of it. I could write another thread about good memories of ZC but that might be for some other time.
As someone who's born and raised in Finland cricket was pretty much non-existent here but I knew about the game from the asian community. So yeah cricket is the "boring" sport where's its not popular. And I was one of them who couldn't disagree on that but Zimbabwe that same year (in 2015) gave the best thriller matches I could ever get to see. I'm not exaggerating but Zimbabwe gave me the peak of the thrill in sports, they are still doing this to this day if the game isn’t disaster for them.
I've been observing this forum quite sometime and got some good insight about Zimbabwe cricket scene but this time I'd like to contribute to this forum to say the least. There has been so many members in and out hopefully the forum will be more active since its been quite lately. Looking forward to get connected ZC fans and let's continue supporting even possibly contributing to Zimbabwe cricket scene.
I'm also planning to visit Zimbabwe for the upcomming 2027 WC and maybe for the U-19 WC. As Zimbabwe cricket who made fall in love with cricket just from the TV/Laptop/mobile screen with intense thrills I don't want to miss out the atmosphere of the stadium
+ Zimbabwean crowds are the best they never dissapoint.
Anyways we have lot of cricket coming on so hope to engage in much discussions as I can.

Masikati!
Kiva nähdä muutamat jäsenet Suomesta, the rapid digitalization made the world smaller.
Anyways I'm South Asian Gen-Z from Finland. And I've been following ZC games closely for around 12-13 years.
Zimbabwe Cricket has really peaked my curiosity since it still has the reputation in Bangladesh especially among the elders. Who's been telling stories how Zimbabwean teams use to dominate Bangladesh and played one of key part to promote the growth of Bangladesh Cricket. Bangladesh people have the respect for that. But unfortunately Bangladesh is not giving Zimbabwe the same energy, which is truly a SHAME!
They had a good rivalry in cricketing timelime and fortunately I have had the priviledge to witness that. Ever since I've understood the game of a cricket (rules, since cricket was almost non-existent in Finland) I can objectively say they provided the best games despite the results.
Damn they've give you best thrillers and I love it!
Fast forward to now it has been a rollercoaster, will be looking forward to follow more from Zimbabwe. And thank you this forum has been good insight from each and every one of you members out there.
And I really hope they get better, whatever the timeline is. Zimbabwe has rich cricketing history and the generations will look to see more histories.
To all Zimbabwean people, there's no shona or ndelebe courses in Finland. So I will have to learn one of these language pretty much on my own, I'll be really grateful if you can practically help me learn shona, because it's more spoken. I'm planning to travel to Zimbabwe around 2026 if they host U-19 WC, so yeah looking to explore Zimbabwe (especially with cricket).

G'day everyone I'm Tom from Sydney Australia Zimbabwes biggest Australian supporter since when I saw them at the SCG in 2001 as part of the Tri Series with West Indies Australia and Zimbabwe. I always loved an underdog, from that day onwards a massive Zimbabwe cricket supporter. Just ask my poor fiancee. Without sounding cocky my knowledge of Zimbabwe cricket is up there with the best, maybe better than googly hahaha. .
