Ideally Zimbabwe play some more T20s matches on the subcontient prior to the WC on top of the practice games. Even if its against Nepal or Oman or something
Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc
According to cricinfo, 1 Test and 3 ODIs that were supposed to be played this month as per FTP have been moved to 2026. So there should be another series at home v Afghanistan.Kriterion_BD wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 12:00 amIs the Afghan series this month?secretzimbo wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 3:21 pmUpcoming Zimbabwe Fixtures
October 2025: 1x Test, 3x T20I Vs Afghanistan (Home)
(Possible) Dec 2025-Feb 2026: Some sort of visit by Australia or Australia A (Home)
February 2026: Men's T20 World Cup, India & Sri Lanka.
May 2026: 3x ODI, 3x T20I Vs Pakistan (Away)
July 2026: 2x Test, 3x ODI, 3x T20I Vs Bangladesh (Home)
December 2026: 1x Test, 3x T20I Vs Afghanistan (Away)
After what has been an immensely busy period there isn't much on the cards between now and the end of 2026. Hopefully we can fill some gaps.
The PAK and Afg series in 2026 should focus on ODIs given the World Cup looming. Fuck the T20s.

Any idea if the Mike Frost playing for MCC is the same one who plays for Rangers??secretzimbo wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 2:53 pm1 Test and 3 T20I’s Vs Afghanistan confirmed for the end of this month, all in Harare.
Also the MCC are touring Zimbabwe this month, multiple matches against Rhinos and Chigumbura’s Academy. Also a 3-day match with FC status against Zim A, to act as a warm-up for us before the Afghanistan test.

@Secret, what went down at Kwekwe (the abandoned match with the MCC) this morning?

Match abandoned as the wicket was deemed dangerous and unplayable. I think the English umpire wanted to get in the bar early
The MCC and their umpire complained and called it off. I hear Rhinos (who were batting!) wanted to continue .
Some of the decks at Kwekwe are very bouncy, particularly so in the last year or two. The ones furthest to the Eastern side of the square from memory. Certainly a challenge but nothing out of the ordinary for club cricket in this part of the world

Quite funny that the English saw big old Mike Chinouya on the team sheet, took one look at the deck, and then thought better of it
Probably had a nice afternoon on either the neighbouring golf course or in the bar instead

Yeah saw the schedule...should be a crackerjack of a series. Zimbabwe have improved by leaps and bounds in the past 12-24 months and the Afghans are currently not in good form at all.

That's a First Class ground, against a FC team... Couldn't even get the game played because the conditions were bad.
